Zachary Levi Lands Role In ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s’ Second Season

Zachary Levi is now stepping up from “Captain” to “Doctor” after he landed a recurring role in the hit Amazon series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for its second season.
The actor, most known for his role in Chuck ill be playing the role of an eclectic Manhattan doctor who starts orbiting the world of Mrs. Maisel and her parents. Unfortunately, Amazon is keeping its lips sealed tight about the other details about his character. Zachary Levi is set to play beside Golden-Globe award winner Rachel Brosnahan who plays as Midge Maisel. Along with her will be veteran actors Tony Shalhoub and Marin Hinkle who plays Midge’s father and mother respectively.
The series revolves around Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a woman living in 1985 in New York City. Her husband leaves her for his secretary. And because of this, she turns to stand-up comedy where she discovers her innate talent in the art. She gets a manager, Susan Myerson (Alex Borstein) and they set off doing gigs at a comedy nightclub.
Zachary Levi’s Mystery Role
A few days before Zachary Levi’s casting, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” won the Peabody Award which swiftly granted its third season. This all happened even before Amazon dropped the release date of the first episode of the second season.
Speaking of the second season, producer-directors Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino are planning to take Midge and her friend Suzie (Alex Borstein) to the road as reported by the Hollywood Reporter. This definitely makes fans wonder where Zachary Levi’s character would fit into all that. As the world awaits, the actor is currently busy with his roles in “Shazam” and the Disney animated musical “Tangled” as Flynn Rider.
In addition to Levi, Gilmore Girls’ Lauren Graham is also edging the casting call. Amy Sherman-Palladino has already expressed her desire to reunite with the Gilmore Girl star in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. In fact, Graham has already pitched ideas of her own for the role according to Sherman-Palladino.
