The X-Files Season 11: James Wong Confirmed To Write Screenplay

While we patiently wait to learn about the truth about “The X-Files” Season 11, we now at least have new info of high importance. Long-time “X-Files” writer James Wong has been confirmed to write two episodes for the new season. Wong is known to have written a number of “The X-Files” episodes including “Home” and season 10’s “Founder’s Mutation.”

James Wong On Coming Up With The X-Files Mythology Stories

In an interview with Den of Geek, Wong also revealed a couple of ideas that he has in mind. “I have one I am excited to do. I talked it over with creator Chris Carter and everybody is on board and we’re going ahead with that, but the other one I am still noodling and figuring out what I should be doing,” Wong said.

He also gave a hint to where season 11 of the “The X-Files” will be heading towards, saying, “you know, we want do to mythology stories and stories that connect with each other, but I think we’re still interested in doing standalone stories.

“I think the second episode I do will be more of a standalone story, and the first one will have some connections to the mythology, but not as connected as Chris’s episodes.”

Bringing Back The Old For A Fresh Take On The X-Files

As for other things instore in terms of writers, directors and new characters introduced in season 10, Wong says that the producers are currently finalizing things, with talks of additional screenwriters being lined up as well. “Everybody wants guys that have worked on it to be back and whom we’d love to work with, but everybody is so busy, you know. It’s really hard to get people [to commit]. I’m juggling a couple of things with American Horror Story, and this, so I can understand why people would be reluctant. Like, Vince [Gilligan] might be too busy, we’re seeing if Howard [Gordon] is available, but it’s hard.”
