Wormageddon: Rick and Morty Start Countdown for a ‘Citadel Secret’

Rick and Morty will premiere in less than a month, and though we don’t know what to expect with the sixth season yet, the show has started a countdown for something called “Wormageddon: A Citadel Secret.”
Check out the ominous clip:
While it’s just a clip of a floating egg in a vat, the music, For the Damaged Coda by Blonde Redhead, is what’s getting fans curious. If you’ve watched Rick and Morty for a while, you’ll know that Coda has been used by the show as the theme of ‘Evil’ Morty. Since EM pretty much exacted his plan in the last season’s finale, it’s curious to see how else he could affect the main Rick and Morty that we’ve been following throughout the course of the show.
If anything, the series usually addresses cliffhanger endings immediately after a season premieres. The second season ended with Rick incarcerated, but he was out by the first episode of Season 3. While I expect Evil Morty to be back in some capacity, it would be great if we could jump right back into his story when Season 6 kicks in.
In the meantime, I think there’s going to be more reveals when it comes to this ‘Wormageddon’ countdown. With a release date so close, I wonder why we haven’t even gotten a trailer yet. I really think it has something to do with this Citadel Secret, but we’ll just have to wait and see to find out.
Rick and Morty Season 6 premieres on Adult Swim this coming Sept. 4.
