Wonder Woman’s Antiope Will Be Appearing In Justice League

One of the many good things about “Wonder Woman” are the Amazonians. Particularly Robin Wright’s Antiope, who never failed to impress us with her awesome fighting skills and flying bow and arrow maneuver.
Antiope is Themyscira’s best fighter and General of the Amazonian army appointed by her sister, Queen Hippolyta. She makes a brief but powerful appearance in the first act of “Wonder Woman” as Diana’s trainor. Antiope’s relationship with the Princess is all the more endearing as much as her fierce fight scenes. What made it slightly disappointing was when she took a bullet to save Diana’s life.
Her death made Diana re-evaluate her intentions, forcing her to leave Themyscira to fight alongside Steve Trevor, track down Ares and put a stop to World War I. But just as we thought we’ve seen the last of Antiope, turns out she will be back as part of the all-star cast of “Justice League.”
Robin Wright’s Antiope Joins Justice League Cast
In an interview with LA Times, Gal Gadot (Diana, Wonder Woman), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta) and Wright were asked about the touching family relationships that “Wonder Woman” showed. We know that Diana and Hippolyta will be reunited in “Justice League,” but what’s even better about this reunion is Antiope’s presence as well.
Gadot says that the mother-daughter relationship is always a beautiful but complex relationship, with plenty of room to explore. Nielsen confirms Antiope’s presence by saying that she and Wright “got to do more in “Justice League” as well. As sisters as well. Kind of badass as well.” Wright then says that we will be getting more of their story and history.
The Great War Between Darkseid, The Amazonians and (Possibly) The Thanagarians
The official trailer for “Justice League” shows an huge battle for control over Earth (possibly taking place years before Batman and the gang), and the planet’s first encounter with Darkseid and Steppenwolf. This is where we see a shot of (presumably) Queen Hippolyta leading the Amazonian army into battle. Rumors of the Thanagarians (you know, Hawkman and Hawk Girl?) being introduced in “Justice League” have also surfaced in line with this scene.
With the Amazonians being present in this battle, it would make so much sense for Antiope to be present, giving us fans of Robin Wright’s breakout character more opportunities to see and obsess over her again.
Regardless of whatever scene Antiope will be doing—dialogue, action, dream sequence, flashback—bringing Robin Wright back would surely please fans who have come to love her in “Wonder Woman,” and also give more reasons why she was the best trainer that Diana has ever had.
“Justice League” hits theaters November 17, 2017. Watch the trailer below:
