'Will & Grace' Season 9, Episode 3 'Emergency Contact' Recap: Divorced Grace and Leo Kiss? [SPOILERS]

Cheers to another episode of NBC’ s most hilarious revival sitcom, “Will & Grace!” Since the confusing first few minutes of the first episode, we catch our characters on an odd journey as singles in this new, 21st-century world. And on this third episode, we are re-introduced to Leo (Harry Connick Jr.) as Grace’s ex-husband looking dashing as ever.

Jack takes on another Thespis-inspired job

Jack (Sean Hayes) is just where we left him before—exuberant as ever. And of course, still taking on a few different kinds of occupations. This time, as a theater-pianist instructor for kids. Here he discovers how ‘incredible’ he is as a teacher. If you think this might finally be his permanent job… better ask the kids he taught.

Karen takes on the role of a mom-figure

Bored and has got nowhere else to go, Karen (Megan Mullally) bothers her best friend Jack on his latest teaching job at the school. Here, she picks a petty argument with some teenager– no surprise. Anywho, this young student will elicit our fashionista to reminisce about her first revelation of reaching womanhood, and sends out the message to all girls who are facing confusion, uncertainties and have no one to talk to: ‘if I survived, so will you.’

Grace and Leo meet for the first time in “Will & Grace” remake

When Grace decides to visit the gynecologist, she gets sedated and wakes up a little foggy on the noggin. According to her attending nurse, they found a few weird cells on her left breast and she might have cancer. But because things are just too funny to take too seriously, we find ourselves not too bothered from the sudden news.
Instead… the nurse then informs her that her ‘emergency contact’ is soon arriving. And while Grace feels relieved thinking it would be her BFF, Will (Eric Mccormack), the unmistakably handsome face of Leo (Harry Connick Jr.) comes walking in the door. This is the first time Leo is glimpsed in this “Will & Grace” reboot, and fans are loving it.
As the episode runs on, we discover from a conversation between Will and Grace, that it had been their ‘weird closeness’ that dragged her marriage to the bottom. And because Grace simply can’t help herself (and maybe because she still has feelings for him), she gives Leo a good visit and gives him a piece of her mind.
We find out in this dialogue that Leo had cheated on her once, and on his attempt to do better, Grace had already built walls around him—thus, he failed to compensate for his deed. But despite it all, Grace admits that Leo ‘had her heart.’ And yes, the short smooch at the end.
This doesn’t look like it’s the end for Grace and Leo—cross your fingers, it wouldn’t be.
“Will & Grace” continues next week with “Grandpa Jack,” Thursday, 9 PM on The CW.
