FBI Hotshot Agent Codename Whiskey Cavalier is the Bureau’s most exceptional Agent. However, Whiskey stumbles on an emotional challenge, slightly tempering his abilities. As Whiskey crosses paths CIA Agent Codename Fiery Tribune, his and her career changed forever.

In the series premiere of Whiskey Cavalier, FBI Agent Will Chase (Scott Foley) takes on a mission to arrest Edgar Standish (Tyler James Williams), a hacker who compromised the Bureau’s Agent profiles. After his long term relationship with his fiance, Gigi (Valerie Huber) ends sourly; Will rushes back into action. CDC Dr. Stepehen Conrad stole an armed bioweapon and is selling it to the highest bidder. Will’s partner, Agent Ray Prince (Josh Hopkins) set a meeting between him and Conrad, but a parade in the city delays his arrival. Realizing that their plans changed, Will improvises, convincing Conrad to hand him the bioweapon. Conrad’s bodyguard (Josef Jelinek) senses Will’s strategy and then kills Conrad, taking the bioweapon with him. After this, a chase ensues, and Will manages to get the vial. Thankfully, his bulletproof vest saves him from the bodyguard’s shot as a man who proposes to his girlfriend distracts Will. With the bodyguard dead, Will checks the corpse, finding his phone with a text message that read ‘Caute,’ a Latin word for ‘cautious.’

After Will returns to the Bureau’s office, Director Alex Ollerman (Dylan Walsh) tries to send him, thinking about his emotional state. However, Will insists that he is still fit for service, so Director Ollerman hands him a new assignment. Edgar Standish, a hacker who compromised the Bureau’s Agent profiles, was abducted by Russians in Moscow. The risks presented by a potential information leak was too high, so Will’s mission is to bring Edgar back in United States’ custody.

Arriving at a bar near Edgar’s location, Will encounters a lady who introduces herself as a British Doctor. With Ray’s guidance, Will manages to lose the Doctor’s interest in him, but only temporarily. As the Doctor brings up her recent breakup, Will loses composure and becomes sympathetic. Just as Edgar and a pair of men exit the nearby hotel, the lady breaks cover and uses a gadget to disperse the bar patrons and distract Will. In no time, Will found himself in a police vehicle, chasing after the lady and Edgar. When Will manages to cut her off, the Lady drives the car towards Will, taking him into her custody as well. After she introduces herself as CIA Agent Frankie Trowbridge, she takes Will and Edgar to a secure location, guarded by a mercenary.

Throughout their time together, Will and Frankie each tried to take the situation into their hands. Will would manage to escape Frankie’s cuffs, while Frankie would get around Will’s tricks. Luckily, Frankie’s re-supply meet-up with fellow Agent Jai Datta (Vir Das) became Will and Edgar’s avenue for escape. Just as Will thought that he successfully got Frankie off his and Edgar’s trail, she shows up in the train they are riding. After a conversation with Will’s confidant and FBI profiler Susan Samson (Ana Ortiz), the trio finds out that they have a bounty on their heads, and the Russian mob has members after them. In their escape, a mobster posing as a taxi driver shoots Frankie. With that, Will races to his known place that could help them: Ray’s holiday home.

Thankfully, Will manages to stabilize Frankie’s condition. As she rested, Will apologizes to Ray for the trouble they caused him. Strangely, Will notices that Ray was preparing breakfast for two. Before Ray could clarify things, Gigi shows up. It turns out that Gigi and Ray are dating for over seven months, behind Will’s back. Edgar becomes the unwilling witness to their fistfight when suddenly, Director Ollerman arrives, demanding custody of Edgar.

Will insists on following standard protocol, and this ticks Director Ollerman off. Because of Will’s boy scout behavior, Ollerman reveals his real plan. Confirming Edgar’s suspicions, Ollerman was the inside guy who sold weapons to the black market. Now that he lost his cover, Ollerman threatens to kill all of them. Awoken by a gunshot, Frankie quickly realizes what is happening. She takes out a gadget that gives Will the chance to eliminate Ollerman.

Both the FBI and the CIA thank Agents Will and Frankie for their actions in uncovering Ollerman’s treachery. However, their mission does not end there. From now on, Will and Frankie, along with their partners Jai and Susan as well as Edgar of the NSA, will work in co-op missions, led by both Bureau’s best Agents, Whiskey Cavalier, and Fiery Tribune.

‘Whiskey Cavalier’ Series Premiere Final Verdict

Everything about this show makes it a lighthearted, funny, and action-packed spy show. Will and Frankie’s dynamic can be compared to the rule ‘opposites attract.’ Also, each of the supporting characters has their quirks. Naturally, this show finds its rightful place in the likes of similar shows such as The Rookie.

Whiskey Cavalier continues Wednesday, March 6th, at 10/9c on ABC.
