The Addams Family spinoff Wednesday premiered last week, and if you haven’t checked out the series yet, one dance scene with Jenna Ortega has come out online that will probably convince you to try out the show.
Check this out:
I don’t want to spoil any context of the show, but the description of the video does confirm that the dances were choreographed by Ortega herself. Some fans have also pointed out that a lot of the moves were references to Gomez and Morticia’s dancing from previous movies, and even the original Wednesday dance from the 60s series.
So far, a lot of fans are loving Tim Burton’s take on the live-action Addams Family, and Ortega makes the role of Wednesday completely her own. She has the look of the character absolutely down, and though some of the high school drama is pretty much on the level of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the goth kids will be pleased that their parents won’t be setting their televisions on fire when Wednesday is playing onscreen.
Here’s the official description for Wednesday:
WEDNESDAY — starring Jenna Ortega in the title role, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci and more — is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Snap snap.
Catch Wednesday now streaming on Netflix.
