Watch the ‘We Don’t Talk about Bruno’ Number from Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl

Though it didn’t make a splash in theaters when it was initially released, Encanto has grown to be one of the most celebrated animated films of all time, with some memorable songs from Lin-Manuel Miranda. What’s cool is, the original cast was brought together for Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl for a live performance, and Disney VEVO has released the hit number We Don’t Talk about Bruno.
Watch this:
Though the stage performance can’t capture all the visual spectacle and finesse of the animated film, you have to give credit for the ensemble for bringing as much dazzling visuals on stage—there’s even a giant Bruno puppet when the line about him being ‘seven-foot frame’ comes in.
With Encanto being such a huge it for Disney, I have a feeling that a sequel is already being discussed somewhere, but then again, that’s just me speculating. With a cast of loveable characters and one of my favorite Disney protagonists, I do hope that Mirabel and the Magrigals find themselves back somehow.
Here’s the official description:
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto” tells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal—every child except one, Mirabel (voice of Stephanie Beatriz). But when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might just be her exceptional family’s last hope.
