We’ve been getting a recent wave of musician biopics with Elvis, I Wanna Dance with Somebody, and Bohemian Rhapsody, but now Amazon Prime Video is gearing up to release a series covering the story of a fictional band.
Daisy Jones & The Six is set to premiere on March 3, and we have a new clip showcasing the first 2 minutes of the series. Check this out:
For such a short clip, we actually get a lot of context with the premise of the show. Daisy Jones & The Six were a successful band, and all of a sudden, they just imploded with all the band members not talking to each other for the next 20 years.
The story is based on the book of the same name from Taylor Jenkins Reid which was published back in 2019, and while the band is fictional, it’s said that the story is inspired by Fleetwood Mac and the romance between members Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. Even costumes in the series were said to be inspired by Fleetwood Mac outfits.
Here’s the synopsis for the series:
In 1977, Daisy Jones & The Six were on top of the world. Fronted by two heat seeking missiles in Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne, the band had risen from obscurity to fame. And then, after a sold-out show at Chicago’s Soldier Field, they called it quits. Now, decades later, the band members finally agree to reveal the truth. This is the story of how an iconic band imploded at the height of its powers.
Daisy Jones & The Six premieres on Amazon Prime Video on March 3.
