Watch New Featurette for the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 may be coming out next year, but we are getting a special with the galaxy’s favorite a-holes later this month. Just in, we have a new featurette for the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, and it gives us a tease of what to expect, as well as a new look at an aging Groot.

In true wacky holiday movie fashion, the special will have all members of the Guardians family attempting to celebrate Christmas. Since Quill is the only one from Earth who knows what Christmas is, his alien teammates will all go on their own wacky subplots to figure out the ‘true meaning of Christmas’. While Drax and Mantis look like they’re going off to find Kevin Bacon, it seems that Rocket will have his story with the Guardians’ space dog Cosmo.

We also have a look at an aged-up Groot who isn’t the old Groot we’ve met in the first Guardians yet, but he looks to have been inspired by a muscle-bound teen. Maybe he’ll get his height back by the time the third movie comes along, but for now, it is a pretty unique look for the character.

Here I am just waiting for a Groot that’s actually wearing the Guardians uniform. When are we getting that one, James Gunn?

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special comes to Disney+ on Nov. 25. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 comes to cinemas on May 5, 2023.
