[00:00:30] The team prepares to infiltrate Vatican City dressed up as nuns. Beatrice makes some final touches to Ava’s disguise. She asks if she is breaking the rules by wearing a habit. “I can guarantee you’re not,” Mary answers. The team heads over to one of the Vatican offices to start their mission as far away as possible from St. Peter’s Basilica. Mother Superion notices them enter the office; they don’t know she’s there. Beatrice activates a signal jammer and hits one of the security cameras with it. They enter another corridor, and they immediately remove their disguises.
[00:04:00] Cardinal Duretti enters the conclave with all the other cardinals. He greets them one by one, not knowing Ava and her team are inside. They manage to take control of the security room where Camila stays behind. She would be assisting the team in sneaking into the Necropolis without being seen by the security cameras. The plan is to use their electric rings in subduing guards, but Ava doesn’t do as told. She tries to muscle one of the guards out, causing a minor injury. Beatrice tells Ava she needs to conserve the halo’s energy, so she can get Adriel’s remains safely. Ava responds she doesn’t use the halo’s energy, but the halo heals her, so she still uses it. Beatrice tells Ava that even though she’s the leader, she doesn’t have to do everything on her own.
[00:08:00] Beatrice adds she needs to trust her team and follow the mission objective. Meanwhile, Jillian visits Lilith. She saw something odd about her in the security footage. Lilith doesn’t allow Jillian to run tests on her. She assures her she’s doing fine and wants to wait for her friends to return. She tells Jillian she could wait somewhere else. Jillian responds her friends left Lilith in her care because they’re worried about her health. She tells Lilith to stay and rest. Kristian interrupts and tells Jillian her son is looking for her. Jillian asks him to make sure Lilith stays in her room.
[00:10:00] The team reaches the staircase where they will part with Mary. She heads to the floor above while Beatrice, Father Vincent, and Ava head down to the Necropolis. Mary tells Ava the mission is in the bag as long as she listens to everything Beatrice tells her. Meanwhile, Jillian visits the room where they saw Lilith from the security cameras. She sees pieces of skin on the floor, takes the pieces, and goes to her lab to analyze them. Mary sees Cardinal Duretti speaking with the other cardinals before going to the conclave. She knows she can’t improvise, so she sticks with their plan. Cardinal Duretti’s ring glows a bright blue hue as he writes his name on his ballot. He knows Ava is beneath St. Peter’s Basilica. Duretti messages Crimson and orders her to find Ava. Crimson prepares her Divinium Arrows, loading her crossbow with them.
[00:14:00] Jillian analyzes the skin she found on the floor. It heals itself as she slices it in half. She knows she found a breakthrough and continues testing the skin. Beatrice, Ava, and Vincent are nearing the entrance to Adriel’s tomb, but Crimson and the rest of the other OCS nuns manage to catch up to them. Beatrice tells Ava to hide because they’re looking for her. Ava watches on as Vincent and Beatrice handle the attackers. Ava tries to help. Crimson goes after her. But before Crimson could kill Ava, Mother Superion stops her. Crimson is no match for Mother Superion. She flees the scene as Beatrice catches up to them. Beatrice gives Mother Superion a handgun and asks to take Ava away from the fight.
[00:017:00] Mary reaches her destination, but the priest in charge wouldn’t let her through. She decides to try and talk with the priest, but he tries to report Mary, so she knocks him out. Ava tells Mother Superion she’s finally fighting for something bigger than herself. Mother Superion tells Ava she trusts her word, but they cannot risk getting her killed. Ava notices the scar on Mother Superion’s back—she was a warrior nun. She tells Ava the halo rejected her because not everyone is worthy. “But you are,” she tells Ava while looking at her.
[00:19:30] Beatrice and Father Vincent arrive at the meetup point. Vincent instructs Beatrice and Ava to proceed as planned as the bell tolls, signaling a vote has been reached for the next pope. They don’t have much time, so Vincent and Mother Superion opt to hold off the attackers while proceeding with their plan. The people outside continuously wait for the church’s next pope. The cardinals haven’t voted yet, so black smoke comes out of the chimney. Beatrice blows a hole in the wall to reach the Necropolis. Ava asks Beatrice why she brought a lot of explosives with her. It’s just a contingency plan, she responds. Ava is offended Beatrice doesn’t trust her, but Beatrice explains her instincts were always flight, not fight.
[00:22:30] Ava tells Beatrice things have changed. Beatrice accepts Ava’s notion and tells her to proceed as planned. Back at Arq-Tech, Jillian goes back to Lilith’s room, but she’s gone. She checks the security cameras and sees Lilith heading to Michael’s room. Michael thinks it is her mother entering the room. He realizes something isn’t right and turns around. He sees Lilith. Michael tells her she’s too late; Ava is almost at the “door.” Lilith can’t accept Ava will succeed. She phases and disappears like a Tarask.
[00:25:00] Beatrice and Ava reach the entrance to Adriel’s tomb. Lilith arrives at the entrance to the Necropolis, surprising both Vincent and Mother Superion. Crimson tries to take her hostage, but her plan backfires. Lilith’s fingernails turn black, grow a few inches, and slit Crimson’s throat. Crimson falls to the floor as she bleeds out from her neck. Vincent tries to talk to Lilith, but she just passes through them, heading to the Necropolis. Beatrice and Ava do some checks before she phases through to Adriel’s tomb. Lilith manages to get to them before Ava phases through. She tells Ava the halo cannot enter Adriel’s tomb. Before things get out of hand, Mary arrives. She helps Beatrice in subduing Lilith.
[00:28:00] Mary talks Lilith out of whatever she is trying to do. Lilith tells Mary she’s losing her mind, and she doesn’t know what’s happening. Mary tells Lilith she’s there for her. Ava puts the gun down, knowing Mary succeeds in subduing Lilith. Beatrice tells Ava to proceed with her mission.
[00:30:30] Ava phases through the wall as Mary continues holding on to Lilith while looking at Beatrice. The mission’s success is now in the hands of Ava. She phases through the wall and tells Beatrice about a Divinium Skeleton in her path. Beatrice knows the Tarasks are made of Divinium, but none of their records show a Tarask could exist in their realm. She realizes the power within Adriel’s bones may allow the Tarask to live on earth permanently. Beatrice tells Ava the Tarask died within the walls trying to get Adriel’s bones. As she realizes how the Tarask died, Beatrice loses radio contact with Ava. They can’t hear each other anymore.
[00:32:30] Ava realizes she’s alone. She keeps her composure and continues phasing through the wall. Ava reaches Adriel’s tomb, but she doesn’t find any bones. She tries telling Beatrice, but she still can’t reach her. Ava turns the corner of the tomb to find a man inside. She asks the man who he is. The man tells her, “You might know me by the name Adriel.”
