Spider-Man: Topher Grace Jokes About Time as Venom

Topher Grace’s Venom may not have had a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man did talk about fighting an alien made of ‘black goo’ once.
What’s funny is, there’s a scary .gif of some kind of black goo going around online, and Grace decided to take the time to joke about his time as a symbiote host. Here’s his post:
I messed with this stuff once. Not cool. https://t.co/cujgxVl2zI

Just in case you’re wondering what’s in the video, it’s actually a species of worm called the Bootlace Worm. They’re found on the British Isles, and are known to be very long, which makes it look like a bunch of black instant noodles just came to life.
Just in case you need a refresher, here’s the scene from Spider-Man 3 where Eddie Brock is bonded with the symbiote:
Admittedly, there was a lot going on with Spider-Man 3, but even though the reception of the film is bad, a lot of fans online have come to embrace the film as a cult classic. While the attempt to turn Eddie into the ‘dark Peter Parker’ wasn’t perfect, I think that Grace did a pretty good job at the role, and I’d look forward to seeing him play it again.
Who knows, maybe the Venom films could pull a No Way Home, and we’ll get to see alternate versions of Venom pop-up? I mean, Sony has greenlit worse things.
No release date has been set for the next Venom or Spider-Man movie, but hopefully we get something around 2025.
