Morbius may have made a laughingstock out of Sony’s universe of Marvel characters, but the Venom franchise is apparently still going. Just in, Tom Hardy has teased a third solo Venom movie and has posted a script written by Kelly Marcel and himself.

With Marcel having written the script or Let There Be Carnage as well, we can probably expect something around the same lines with this third movie. While Venom had been criticized for being a step back in the comic book genre, it seems that the movie is wholly embracing its campy tone, doubling down on it with Let There Be Carnage.
Though some expected some kind of clash with Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, Spider-Man: No Way Home has given us the solution in that a piece of the Venom symbiote was left in the MCU when Eddie Brock was briefly transported there. We don’t know if a different version of Eddie is going to get the suit, but I think Marvel is going to go the comic route and have Peter use the suit first before it finds a new host with Eddie Brock. Will he still be played by Tom Hardy? I guess it’s possible, but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
It’s unclear when we’ll see Spider-Man or Venom next, but we could get some hints with the upcoming Madame Web and Kraven the Hunter—the latter coming out in January if next year.
As of now, no release date has been set for the third Venom movie.
