We just got the reveal for the star-studded cast of Seth Rogen’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie, and now Paramount has officially released the trailer for TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, and it introduces us to a new generation of Heroes in a Half Shell.
Check this out:
Here’s the official description:
In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, after years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.
From the get-go, you can see the clear influence of the Spider-Verse art style which makes the movie look like a painting come to life. While the rest of the world is stylized like it was a comic, the turtles themselves also look like they’re a blend of CG, Claymation, and the original live-action turtles from back in the ‘80s.
I have to say, the movie looks amazing, and this is probably the youngest we’ve seen the turtles depicted. We don’t know how their dynamic could change, but I always love how the TMNT franchise manages to reinvent itself every few years for a new generation of kids.
Catch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem when it comes to cinemas on Aug. 4.
