A new journey begins when the Titans finally unite. The need for training becomes crucial, and our four heroes are yet to know the extent of their powers. Still, the Nuclear Family and The Organization remains a threat. Now, their first team-up brings out the best of them. However, a surprise, in the end, awaits them.
In this week’s episode of Titans, Detective Dick Grayson/Robin (Brenton Thwaites), Koriand’r/Starfire (Anna Diop), Gar Logan/Beastboy (Ryan Potter), and Rachel Roth/Raven (Teagan Croft) team-up to eliminate the Nuclear Family. Later, Jason Todd (Curran Walters), the new Robin, makes a surprise entrance.
Training
After their trip to the Doom Patrol’s hideout, their group heads to a nearby motel to rest. Dick recognizes the need for training so that their attacks will be well-coordinated, just like their enemies. The next day, they head to a remote barn to see each others’ powers. The day ends well with them becoming at ease with one another, especially between Dick and Kory, as things become intimate.
The Return
When the four of them get rested, the Nuclear Family strikes out of nowhere. Led by their new Stepdad (Zach Smadu), the Nuclear Family wreaks havoc in the hotel. Just as they surround Kory, Rachel, and Gar, Dick comes out in his Robin suit then eliminates the Nuclear Family. Questioning them proves useless, so Dick decides to take their last known route.
The New Robin
The moment Dick arrives in Dr. Adamson’s (Reed Birney) office, The Organization’s troops mobilize to eliminate both of them. Dick continued to try to squeeze any useful information from Dr. Adamson, but the soldiers storm the office, so he defends himself. Just as they gain the upper hand against him, Jason Todd arrives and takes them down. However, he comes bearing important news.
‘Titans’ Season 1, Episode 5 ‘Together’ Final Verdict
This episode was very kick-ass, perhaps my favorite so far. It was satisfying to see the team have a semblance of training, although it would have been better if this had more screen time. Also, Curran Walters was an excellent choice to portray Jason Todd. Much like the rest of the actors of the show, Curran perfectly captures Jason Todd’s character. This show indeed keeps getting better and better.
Titans continues on Friday, November 16th at the DC Streaming Service.
