Thor: Love and Thunder Gets Disney+ Release Date

Despite the haters online, Thor: Love and Thunder managed to gross more than half a billion in the box office, and now Disney is gearing up for the home release.

Just in, Thor: Love and Thunder gets its streaming date, and we should expect it on Disney+ this September 8. Here’s the announcement:

While a lot of fans did love Thor: Ragnarok, director Taika Waititi really tried to up the silliness for Love and Thunder. Admittedly, there were some jokes that landed pretty poorly, but I think it does have a lot of great character moments, especially when it comes to the relationship between Thor and Jane.

Admittedly, the movie really went some unexpected directions for me, with Jane actually dying and Thor becoming a father. We don’t know how Marvel plans to pull that thread in the future, but I have a feeling that Thor’s daughter could be the Mighty Thor that fans expected Jane to be in the longer run.

Thor embarks on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced — a quest for inner peace. However, his retirement gets interrupted by Gorr the God Butcher, a galactic killer who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who — to his surprise — inexplicably wields his magical hammer. Together, they set out on a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance.

Thor: Love and Thunder comes to Disney+ on Sept. 8.
