‘The Voice’ Season 14, Episode 20: ‘Live Top 12 Eliminations’ Recap

We are set to reveal the Top 11 of “The Voice!” It was undeniable that all the contestants did their best during their live Top 12 performances, so it is right to say that all of them deserve to continue in the show. But like what many people say, in every competition, there’s always a winner and a runner-up.

Coaches and surprise guests’ performance

Birthday girl Kelly Clarkson joined Brynn Cartelli, D.R. King and Kaleb Lee to sing “Don’t Take the Money” by Bleachers. Their performance went well, but it seems that their voices don’t match each other and they have no harmony as well.

Adam Levine, on the other hand, performed with Maroon 5. They sang their new single, “Wait.” Blake Shelton also performed with his team members, Kyla Jade, Pryor Baird and Spensha Baker. They delivered “I Thank You” by Sam & Dave during the live Top 12 eliminations. Unlike Team Kelly, Team Blake has more harmony and they smoothly connected with each other.

Meanwhile, the cast of “Rise” surprised the audience with their performance of “Scars To Your Beautiful.”

The Bottom Two: Rayshun LaMarr & D.R. King

It was surprising to know that Rayshun LaMarr was not voted through by America! Rayshun did exceptionally in all of his past performances in “The Voice,” so he surely doesn’t deserve to go home yet. D.R King joined Rayshun in the bottom two.

Rayshun performed Tina Turner’s “I Can’t Stand the Rain” for his Instant Save performance. He got the last spot in the Top 11 after displaying the power and versatility of his voice. There’s no doubt that Rayshun has a lot more to offer and he can perform anything that Adam will ask him to do. Rayshun also has showcased different singing styles in “The Voice.”

On the other hand, something is missing and different with D.R. during his Instant Save performance. He sang The Temptations’ “Papa Was a Rolling Stone.” D.R. struggled during his Top 12 Live performance, and he failed to step up his game. This must be the reason why he was eliminated too early in “The Voice.”
