We are finally down to the remaining Top 12 contestants of “The Voice.” Each of them will have to show something better if they really want to be one of the finalists. Tonight, the contestants tell the stories of the songs that mean the most to them and perform them for Coaches Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
Team Adam: Rayshun LaMarr
Rayshun is one Adam’s favorites, and is also one of the most underrated singers in “The Voice.” Despite that, Rayshun continues to prove that he deserves to stay longer in Adam’s team. He sang David Guetta and Kelly Rowland’s “When Love Takes Over,” where he was able to find a new momentum after his surprising performance during the Live Playoffs.
Team Kelly: Kaleb Lee
Kaleb positively chose the right song during his Live Top 12 performance. He sang one of the most beloved country songs titled “Amazed’ by Lonestar. The song suits Kaleb’s voice very well, and he took the opportunity to show the right range of his voice through the song.
Team Alicia: Jackie Foster
Jackie was able to show a killer performance during the “The Voice” Live Playoffs, but she miserably failed during her Top 12 Live performance.
Jackie sang Britney Spears’ “Toxic,” and although her vocals were outstanding, she struggled to hit the falsettos.
Team Blake: Spensha Baker
Blake obviously helped Spensha in improving her singing skills and abilities in “The Voice.” In fact, Spensha is probably the most improved singer in the competition so far.
During Spensha’s Top 12 Live performance, she sang Trisha Yearwood’s “Down on My Knees” where she was able to control her voice very well. Spensha also sang with so much soul and emotion during her performance.
Team Alicia: Christiana Danielle
Christiana has been very consistent in all of her pieces in “The Voice,” and during her Top 12 Live Performance, she continued to impress the coaches and the viewers.
Christiana performed A Great Big World’s “Say Something,” and she once again showcased how versatile and unique her voice is.
Team Kelly: D.R. King
Kelly once said that she saved D.R. from being eliminated because she thinks D.R. can tackle any song that she will throw at him—and D.R. continues to prove that her coach is right.
D.R. sang Dido’s “White Flag.” Although the song was originally popularized by a woman who also has a high-pitched tone, D.R. was able to deliver the song with originality, confidence, and most especially, power.
Team Adam: Sharane Calister
Sharane stood out in her past performances in “The Voice.” It seems like she doesn’t want to disappoint her coach and her family.
Sharane delivered Shawn Mendes’ “In My Blood” for her Live Top 12 performance. Sharane’s had an impressive stage presence and showcased compelling power too. The only problem with Sharane is that she’s one of the most underrated singers in Team Adam.
Team Blake: Pryor Baird
Pryor is one of the early favorites this season of “The Voice.” The coaches love him, and the viewers like him too. In fact, many studio audiences clapped and cheered for him during his Top 12 Live performance.
Pryor decided to sing Keith Anderson’s “Pickin’ Wildflowers.” Pryor’s grit and rasp are insane, but one can think that that’s the only things he can offer.
Team Kelly: Brynn Cartelli
Brynn is one of the most talented singers not only in Team Kelly but in “The Voice.” Sometimes, you will forget that Brynn is at a very young age because she sings beyond her age. Vrynn can also remind you of the young Kelly Clarkson in the “American Idol” stage.
Brynn sang Patty Griffin’s “Up to the Mountain” during the Live Top 12 performances. She made sure to sing the song like it was her own.
Team Adam: Jackie Verna
From Jackie Foster, we now go to Jackie Verna. Adam has always been cheering for his team member Jackie. This probably made Jackie more confident and strong amidst some challenges in “The Voice.”
To give back the favor, Jackie always makes sure that she gives everything to all her performances. She doesn’t want to disappoint her number one cheerleader. Jackie performed Avril Lavigne’s “I’m with You” for her Top 12 Live performance.
Team Alicia: Britton Buchanan
Britton sang John Mellencamp’s “Small Town” during the Live Top 12 performances. Britton looked like he was telling a story to the audience and sang naturally too. The good thing about Britton is that he can quickly capture one’s attention. Once you hear his voice, you will never forget it again.
Team Blake: Kyla Jade
Kyla never fails to show something new in each of her performances. And during her Top 12 Live performance, she tackled Jennifer Hudson’s “One Night Only.”
Kyla showcased her rich and resonant voice during her performance. Blake was undoubtedly happy for her since he always advises Kyla just to keep the level of confidence and execution that she already has.
“The Voice” continues Tuesday, April 24th, with the “Live Top 12 Results” at 8/7c on NBC.
