‘The Voice’ Season 14, Episode 18: ‘The Live Playoffs’ Night 3 Recap

The remaining ten contenders of “The Voice” performed in front of Coaches Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Alicia Keys, and Adam Levine for the final night of the Live Playoffs. Finally, America has spoken, they have cast their votes, and the results are ready!

Team Kelly: Kaleb Lee

Kelly once said that Kaleb is “the best country singer on the show” and indeed, the singer did his best to prove that! Kaleb has been very consistent from “The Voice” Blind Auditions until his first Live Playoffs Performance. Tonight, he sang Thomas Rhett’s “Die a Happy Man” where he was apparently a little bit mellow than usual. Kaleb showcased something new and was successful in impressing everyone.

Kelly asked the viewers to vote for Kaleb so this a sign that she really wants him to stay in the competition for a longer time.

Team Kelly: Alexa Capelli

During Alexa’s last Live Playoffs performance in “The Voice,” she chose the wrong song. Alexa wasn’t able to showcase the real power of her voice. But tonight, she learned her lesson. Alexa picked the right song and sang with poise and confidence.

Alexa performed “Stop And Stare” by OneRepublic. The song suits her voice, and it brought out the best in her. The only question left is, will America or Kelly save her?

Team Kelly: D.R. King

D.R. is one of the most talented singers in “The Voice.” He always gives his best in all of his performances, and he makes sure that he does something new in every chapter of the show. Truly, D.R. deserves to be in the Top 12.

During the final night of the Live Playoffs, D.R. delivered Anderson East’s “All on My Mind” where he showcased his powerful vocals and compelling voice.

Team Kelly: Dylan Hartigan

Dylan decided to present Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” based on its original arrangement, but he also showed his style in some parts of the song.

Dylan’s performance is one of the best tonight. His tones were clean, and his notes are on point as well.

Team Kelly: Tish Haynes Keys

Tish chose a very crucial song tonight, and it’s “At Last” by Etta James. Some of the singers who sang the song in the past have overdone it, and some did it well. But Tish took the risk and delivered the song with her rendition.

Tish, however, was not that successful in convincing the audience and the coaches with her style. Her pitch was fluctuating, and sometimes she’s off-key.

Team Adam: Reid Umstattd

Reid picked an unfamiliar song titled “Long Cool Woman (in a Black Dress)” by The Hollies. Many of the viewers may not know about the song, but their parents might!

Reid was able to display his ability to keep up with the tempo and stretch some high notes.

Team Adam: Jackie Verna

Contrary to Reid, Jackie picked the wrong song tonight in “The Voice.” Jackie performed “Once” by Maren Morris, and she failed to show her incredible vocals that she once had in the past. But because Jackie is Adam’s favorite, this made her an easy pick for the Top 12.

Team Adam: Drew Cole

Drew returned to his comfort zone after trying some other styles in his last performances. Drew sang The Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses” for the Live Playoffs. Although this performance was not the best, it was apparent that he gave it his all, hoping he can stay in the competition.

Team Adam: Mia Boostrom

Mia sang “Either Way” by Chris Stapleton for the third night of “The Voice” Live Playoffs, and it looks like something was missing and a bit off. Unlike her past performances, Mia seemed to be struggling a lot with her performance.

Mia was successful with those low notes, but her high notes were a mess. The good thing is that Mia was able to connect with the song and her vocals sound good.

Team Adam: Rayshun LaMarr

Seriously, no one can beat Rayshun’s energy. During his Live Playoffs performance, Rayshun sang Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Goin’ Down” as if his life depended on it.

Adam said that Rayshun just destroyed the evening and won the week!

‘The Voice’ Live Playoffs Official Results

Tonight’s results in “The Voice” Live Playoffs are a bit surprising, but some are just like what people have expected. America chose Pryor Baird for Blake’s team, and Blake saved Spensha Baker. Kelly, on the other hand, kept D.R. King and America picked Kaleb Lee for Kelly’s team. Meanwhile, America saved Jackie Foster for Alicia’s side, and Alicia saved Christian Danielle. As for Adam, he saved Jackie Verna, and the people of America picked Rayshun LaMarr.

“The Voice” continues Monday, April 23rd, with “The Live Top 12 Performances” at 8/7c on NBC.
