‘The Voice’ Season 14: Blind Auditions Part 4 Recap [SPOILERS]

“The Voice” Season 14 is getting more and more exciting as it passes the halfway mark of the blind auditions. The mighty “BLOCK” button almost got pressed by all of the coaches, which means they need to exert more effort to win the contestant’s heart and attention. Here are the results of the “The Voice” Blind Auditions part 4.

Terrence Cunningham

With his smooth and soothing voice, Terrence Cunningham from Washington, D.C. captured the heart of the coaches. He beautifully sang “My Girl” by the Temptations. It only took 45 seconds for all the judges to turn their chairs. Aside from getting good comments from the coaches, Terrence also got a standing ovation. Blake said that he never heard a performance like his. Kelly then expressed her amazement by saying that she wanted him to succeed like she also did in a singing competition. Adam, on the other hand, said that he doesn’t need them, but they need him, so he wanted to coach him more than he wanted to coach someone in “The Voice.”

Sadly, no matter how Adam, Kelly, and Blake convince him to join their team, he chose Alicia. Well, who wouldn’t pick a coach who already knows you’re a winner, right? Surely Alicia’s got some charm inside her.

Jason Strom

This 29-year old guy from Shelby, North Carolina sang “This Magic Moment” by Ben E. King. Although he only got a one-chair-turn courtesy from Blake, he proved that he has the right to be part of the battle rounds and to be part of Blake’s team. Jason’s voice–which sounds like Jason Mraz or Justin Timberlake–helped him carry his performance. It seems like Blake was happy to coach him as he did the happy dance.

Wilkes

Another contestant joined Blake’s team. He is Wikes from Waleska, Georgia who sang “One Headlight” by the Wallflowers.

When he started singing, it seemed like no coaches will turn their chair, but towards the end of his performance, Adam and Blake did. Adam said that it’s all about the chorus. If he sang the chorus well, then he will turn. Based on his song choice, Wilkes looks like he is suited for Team Adam. But then he’s also interested in country music, so he chose Team Blake instead.

Alexa Cappelli

Alexa Cappelli got Kelly’s attention as she sang “I’ve Got The Music In Me” by the Kiki Dee Band. The 18-year old from Upland, California tried her very best to balance studies and music in her life. This drive helped her nurture her singing skills and abilities more. She often joins singing competitions in her school with Kelly Clarkson’s songs, so it’s not surprising to see her choose Kelly as her coach!

Spensha Baker

Spensha Baker sang “Blackbird” by The Beatles during her blind audition. Even though Adam didn’t turn his chair, he said that he was happy that Spensha chose to sing one of his favorite songs and she did it in her way. Both Kelly and Blake loved every part of her performance, but Spensha decided to choose Blake, the one who said that Spensha would be the most significant gift to his team.

Other contestants

Blake once again went head to head with Kelly for JesLee, who sang “I’m With You” by Avril Lavigne. Kelly said that she loved the song he chose and was happy that she sang it smartly. But even though JesLee loves Kelly, he picked Blake as her coach for the battle rounds (and probably for the whole season).
Meanwhile, Alicia turned her chair for high school singer Jordan Symone after her rendition of the song “Tennessee Whiskey.” Alicia said that she’s excited to coach her because Jordan sang soulfully and energetically. Her excitement for passionate singers continued as she turns to pop singer Megan Lee, who sang “Killing Me Softly With His Song” by Fugees.
Adrian Brannan, however, didn’t convince the coaches to turn for him. With his song “Two More Bottles Of Wine” by Emmylou Harris, it seems that he still needs some improvement not only in his voice but also to his singing style.
“The Voice” continues next Monday, March 19th, and Tuesday, March 20th with the Battles Premiere at 8/7c on NBC.
