Lighthouse director Robert Eggers is finally stepping into the world of blockbuster films with The Northman, and the film is set to come out later this month. Just in, Focus Features has dropped a new clip of a group of Vikings attacking a fort—and it looks pretty intense.
Watch this:
The clip only lasts a minute, but I guess the short time is what makes this invasion clip so amazing. The Vikings didn’t bring any impressive numbers or tech, but they were still able to scale a wall and even avoid (or catch) any projectiles that were thrown their way.
It has been boasted that this is a historically accurate depiction of Vikings, and with Eggers at the helm, you know that you’re going to be in for one hell of a ride. Though he has made smaller films with The Lighthouse and The Witch, fans are excited to see what he can bring to screen when he’s given an almost $100 million budget. Too bad this could be his last effort though because he has said that he hasn’t been a fan of the studio interference.
Who knows, maybe the film could be a commercial hit? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see until it releases.
From visionary director Robert Eggers comes THE NORTHMAN, an action-filled epic that follows a young Viking prince on his quest to avenge his father’s murder. With an all-star cast that includes Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Björk, and Willem Dafoe.
The Northman comes to cinemas on April 22.
