Five traveled the apocalyptic timeline for years along with Delores. He enjoys his life with Delores as he travels from one place to another, picking up loot after loot. It was when he grew into an old man that a woman found Five in the apocalyptic timeline. Fast forward to the present, Five wakes up and finds Luther beside him. He starts asking Five some questions regarding the apocalypse and how they could stop it.
Five tells Luther that they can’t stop it. The prosthetic eyeball is a dead end, and Five doesn’t have any new leads. Diego arrives, and he wants a piece of Five. He pieced together Detective Patch’s case, and everything leads back to Five. Over the past few days, all the killings were because someone was hunting down Five. Five responds that Hazel and Cha-cha were none of their business, but Diego wants revenge. He wants to kill Hazel and Cha-cha to avenge Patch’s death. Five tries to warn Diego that he can’t win against the two, but he doesn’t care. Blinded by vengeance, Diego leaves the gym and heads to the doughnut shop to find clues.
Luther wants Five to elaborate on his situation and what Hazel and Cha-cha have to do with him. The woman that Five met in the apocalyptic timeline is called The Handler. She works for The Commission, which specializes in the preservation of the time continuum through manipulation and removal. The handler wants to recruit Five because he could time travel using his abilities. Five hesitates to accept the offer, but he does so anyway, thinking he could return to his timeline after 5 years of service with The Commission. Midway through his contract, Five was about to assassinate JFK when he finally got the right formula to travel back to his timeline.
Luther assumes that Five has a moral code during his assassinations. He knew that Five wouldn’t just kill innocent people. Five responds that there is no moral code; there are no good or bad guys, just people going about their everyday lives. Meanwhile, Klaus finally made it back to his timeline. He pops back on the same bus, but things have changed for him this time. His hands were bloody, and he was no longer wearing his bathrobe. Klaus gets off the bus and immediately destroys the briefcase. He cried in relief at getting back to his timeline as he saw something that shook him to the core.
[00:14:00] Hazel and Cha-cha went to the cleaning lady to look for their briefcase. They killed her, but they didn’t find the suitcase. They received a notification about an illegal round trip made by their briefcase. Hazel and Cha-cha know that Klaus has the briefcase, and they need to find him before he makes any more trips. Vanya is looking for her pills, but she doesn’t have any left. Allison came over to give her some breakfast, but she was saving her appetite for her breakfast date with Leonard. Allison still thinks Leonard is suspicious, but Vanya doesn’t care. She left to meet up with Leonard in a local café.
[00:16:00] Leonard knew that Allison didn’t like him, but that didn’t stop Vanya from seeing him. She knew that Allison was trying to protect her because Allison thinks that Vanya can’t make her own decisions. Vanya is desperate to prove that she can take care of herself, but she’s falling into a trap. Vanya reveals that the auditions for the first chair have opened up because the current first chair just stopped showing up to rehearsals. Leonard tells Vanya that she’s going to be a great first chair.
Klaus went back to the academy to take a bath. He’s starting to feel the negative effects of time traveling. Five went over, and he saw Klaus getting out of the bath. He recognized the symptoms and asked Klaus what had happened to him. Klaus told Five everything that happened yesterday. He got kidnapped by Hazel and Cha-cha; he took their briefcase when he escaped. Klaus thought he could get some money, but instead, he got sent to a different timeline. He was stuck there for over a year before returning to their timeline. Five wants to know where the briefcase is because he could use it to return to the past. Klaus responds that he destroyed the briefcase as soon as he got back.
Klaus ended his conversation with Five because he couldn’t take the nagging. Five saw a piece of paper in Klaus’s room and decided to write something. Meanwhile, Klaus went around the academy and saw the damage from their fight with Hazel and Cha-cha. Diego took all of his knives and was ready to hunt down Hazel and Cha-cha. Klaus asks Diego to give him a ride out because he doesn’t know how to drive.
Allison went to the library to do some research on Leonard. Cha-cha was at the library, too, doing her research on Five and his siblings. Hazel went back to the doughnut shop to see Agnes. Meanwhile, Klaus hitched a ride with Diego and asked him to drop him off at the Veterans of Foreign Wars office. He went to the wall to check a picture of a man named Dave. Diego went inside the bar to check on Klaus and asked him to spill his story. One of the veterans inside the bar went over to scold them. He knew they weren’t veterans, and they weren’t supposed to be in the bar. The guy thinks that Klaus is pretending to be a veteran, but it turns out that Klaus became a soldier in another timeline.
Hazel joins Agnes on her lunch break. He learns that Agnes is a bird watcher and that she lives a simple life. Agnes plans to move to the countryside to open up her bakery. Hazel knew that the world would end soon, so he told Agnes to get moving and grab her dreams before the world ended. Meanwhile, Diego and Klaus were sitting outside the doughnut shop in his car. Diego knew he was his target, and Klaus told Diego that Hazel was one of the people who tortured him.
Five finally finished his equation to determine how he could stop the apocalypse. He plans to kill a gardener named Milton Greene. Five tells Luther that Milton’s death would save many lives in the long run. Luther didn’t want Five to kill an innocent man. He holds Delores hostage so that Five wouldn’t leave to kill Milton. Five teleports to save Delores, and Luther takes his sniper rifle in exchange. Five knew there was another way to save the world, but he told Luther that it was impossible. Luther responds that there’s nothing impossible since Five could get back to them even though he went missing for 16 years.
Allison went over to Vanya to tell her what she saw about Leonard. She wasn’t able to find any records of Leonard. Vanya didn’t like what Allison was doing. She was happy that someone was seeing something special with her, and she wasn’t going to allow Allison to ruin her moment. Vanya tells Allison to leave. Allison didn’t have any choice, so she left without saying another word about Leonard.
Meanwhile, Hazel and Cha-cha arrive at their new motel. Hazel went around town looking for their briefcase while Cha-cha researched their targets. She now knew about everyone’s special abilities. Hazel responds that they need to worry about Diego because he’s sitting in the parking lot of the motel.
Hazel and Cha-cha knew they needed to escape, so they devised a plan. She left the room with an ice bucket, and Diego saw the opportunity and told Klaus to wait in the car. Diego went upstairs to the room, but Cha-cha wasn’t there. Hazel and Cha-cha drove by and started shooting at Diego. Klaus manages to pull Diego out of harm’s way, but they can’t go after Hazel and Cha-cha. They shot Diego’s tires, and they don’t have a backup vehicle.
Vanya went to her audition while Allison continued her investigation of Leonard. While Vanya was playing in her audition, Allison went to Leonard’s house and broke in. She was looking around when Leonard arrived. Allison didn’t have any choice but to leave before Leonard saw her. She sneaks out of the house unnoticed. Meanwhile, something magical is happening at Vanya’s rehearsals. Something was happening with the sound coming from her violin, which drew the audience to her playing.
Luther accompanies Five to meet with Hazel and Cha-cha. They brought a fake suitcase with them. Luther doesn’t think their plan would work, but Five knew Hazel and Cha-cha more than anyone. They need the bag back because they would get in trouble with The Commission if they find out that they lost their briefcase. Hazel and Cha-cha arrive, and they go over to talk with Five. He wants to meet with The Handler because he needs to speak to her. Hazel and Cha-cha agree and set up a meeting with The Handler. Diego and Klaus arrive before The Handler, and they decide to run down Hazel and Cha-cha using an ice cream truck.
The Handler arrives just in time. She stops time to speak with Five. Five wants The Handler to stop the apocalypse, but that’s impossible even for her set of skills. She breaks a new deal with Five and tells him to go back and work for The Commission. They want him back, and he’ll be given a management position instead. Five wants to save his entire family from the apocalypse. The Handler couldn’t guarantee anything, but she tells Five that she’ll work on it. Five saves Luther from dying of a bullet shot as he moves the trajectory of a bullet flying towards him. Five join The Handler, and they return to her timeline.
As soon as they left, time resumed, and everything continued as they were supposed to. Luther dodges the bullet thanks to Five. He immediately looked for Five, but he was no longer there. Luther throws the briefcase away to save Diego and Klaus. They sped away in their car while Cha-cha opened the briefcase. She thought it was their briefcase, but it wasn’t. The suitcase was full of metal scrap. Cha-cha was furious when she found out that they got tricked. Luther drove away as fast as he could while Klaus gave Hazel and Cha-cha his middle finger.
Vanya went back to Leonard to tell him that she finally got the first chair. She appreciates how he believes in her, and they end up having sex. The invisible force continues to exude from Vanya. The force traveled up to Leonard’s attic, where he kept Hannah’s body. Leonard killed Hannah so that Vanya would get a chance to audition for the first chair. The force continues to travel back to the academy. Pogo finishes fixing Grace and asks her if she remembers everything that happened. Grace confirms, and Pogo tells her that the children cannot know what happened. Grace confirms once more.
