The Secret Circle: Predicted Dark Magic Comes to Pass

Back in December 2011, with just 2 episodes to go before The Secret Circle went on winter hiatus, we compiled a list of 5 things that might occur when the show returned to screens in 2012. There were the obvious choices (we wanted to see Cassie explore her dark side) and there were some ominous predictions too (a parent would die), and a couple thrown in for fun (Nick might make a spectacular return).

Top 5 Secret Circle Predictions For 2012

One of the predictions we discussed with some real seriousness involved Adam Conant and his ties to Cassie.
“We’ve been hearing a lot about how Adam and Cassie are written in the stars and that it’s generally not a good idea to mess with fate.  But what if these warnings go deeper than romantic love? Suppose Adam’s purpose is to temper Cassie’s darker impulses? Without him she might be fated to repeat her father’s mistakes. As much as I really like Adam and Diana, I’m intrigued by the idea that the fates of the Blake and Conant families are interwoven in a manner which touches on something dark and powerful.”
Now an intriguing press release from the CW on episode 17 ‘Curse’ sets out to explore Adam and Cassie’s destiny in some detail. Blackwell argues that although Cassie and Adam’s love may be destined, it is also cursed. The solution seems initially simple. The curse can be broken. The only snag is that in doing so, someone in the Circle must die.

We’re kind of excited that ‘Curse’ will tease out this subject in more detail. For the Blakes and Conants, it seems the course of true love may never run smooth.

‘Curse’ airs on Thursday, March 22, at 9/8c on The CW, but a special airing will take place at the WonderCon event in Anaheim, CA, on Friday March 16h, a full six days ahead of its TV debut.
