‘The Royals’ Season 4, Episode 3 ‘Seek For Thy Noble Father in the Dust’ Recap: Liam Isn't Himself [SPOILERS]

Last week, “The Royals” left us with Jasper (Tom Austen) awake, and Liam (William Moseley) and Cyrus (Jake Maskall) still plotting against Robert. This week didn’t fall short on drama, either. Liam is slowly flying off the rails, and Robert (Max Brown) is still on the hunt for a bride. Helena (Elizabeth Hurley) is on her road of lust. On the bright side, Princess Eleanor (Alexandra Park) is giving someone a happy ending.

Liam and his loose screw

“Seek For thy Noble Father in The Dust” opens with Liam tackling Robert (Or who he thinks is Robert) to the ground. With his hands tight around the look-alike’s neck, Liam accuses him of murdering his father. But Cyrus walks in and calmly explains who he is. Shocked and dismayed, he follows his uncle out the room.
Liam is adamant in proving his brother is guilty and tries to get Jasper on his side. When Liam couldn’t get anyone to listen, he forced a family meeting. With a crazed look, he pulled Cyrus’ gun out and pointed it at his brother to expose him. In front of their mother, Liam spilled the beans about Robert’s deposits to Ted Pryce.
To his surprise, their parents knew about this. The truth is that the deposits were for Pryce because Robert felt sympathy for him when his wife died. When the King tried to get the gun from him, Liam continued to go nuts. Luckily, Len came and knocked her brother out with a figurine.

Robert’s long list of candidates

After choosing the candidates, the screening begins. Robert’s lengthy process of selection continues with a walk around the gardens and a casual chat. Subliminally, this serves as a test. Those who pass get to have lunch with the King himself. The next, and probably the most important, is the press test. They hired fake media to try and berate the girls. Out of the countless “contestants,” only two got an invite to lunch, but only one impressed and caught Robert’s attention.
Cassandra (Emily Barber) is radically unlike any other candidate and as a second Helena. This fact is enough to put her on the top of the list. However, it seems like Willow isn’t too happy that Robert is getting closer to finding her a replacement.

Helena’s love begins and ends

In the first episode, we see Helena text Colin Yorke, her former “buddy” and contender for Prime Minister. Now, they’ve had more adventures, and it looks like York is feeling something. But with everything that happened with Liam and Robert, she decided to end things with Colin.

Eleanor makes fairytale endings

Jasper wakes up with a pile of mail on him and Len going crazy over them. Almost all of them contained messages asking for help, and this pulled Len’s heartstrings. Jasper then asks her to spend less time with him so that the press and the people don’t speculate and spread the word that Len is the one Jasper was referring to in the press conference.
You could almost hear the ding in her head. Len got the brilliant idea of helping people in the hospital, that way she could support and still be with her boyfriend.
In the children’s ward. She met a fan, Becky (Ally Adams), with a blood disease. After listening to her for a while, Len decided to bring the formal dance the girl couldn’t attend to her. The bonus was Devin (Joshua Shea), Becky’s crush.
With Len’s newfound creative side and power a princess has, she successfully pulled off the dance. When Devin failed to RSVP, Jasper was the next best thing. When they get to the hall, Becky was pleased to see Jasper was also a bit disappointed. Her eyes lit up when Devin came out from behind. After a stern talk from Len, Becky’s new friend danced with the star of the night.
On the other hand, it looks like the bad blood between Sebastian and Jasper is more evident in this episode. But it seems there’s more than meets the eye when Len and Sebastian danced together, showing they’re up to something.

Robert brings the darkness to “The Royals”

“The Royals” have a knack for finishing things with a bang. The episode ends with Robert counting down. When he reaches one, the whole of London slowly loses its light, and all are engulfed in darkness.
“The Royals” continues next Sunday, April 1st, with “Black As His Purpose Did The Night Resemble” at 10/9c on E!
