The Rock Shares New Look at Doctor Fate in Black Adam

We won’t be getting a Justice League movie anytime soon, but we are going to meet the Justice Society of America in Black Adam later this year.

Just in, the Rock has shared a look at Pierce Brosnan’s mystic character, Doctor Fate. Check him out:

Though a lot of fans consider Doctor Fate to be DC’s version Doctor Strange, their personalities are considered vastly different, with Doctor Fate’s ‘host’ having to succumb to the personality of his mythical helmet. Also, I guess it’s worth noting that Fate’s powers have a more Egyptian origin—which kind of makes him closer to Marvel’s Moon Knight, but I guess that’s another can of worms.

I have to say though, Fate’s costume design is on point, and they’re doing their best to give him an intricate costume that properly sets him apart from Stephen Strange. I guess the patterns in the blue suit also give off kind of a Man of Steel vibe. I’m sure a lot of people are going to be debating about Strange/Fate after the movie premieres later this year. Hopefully there’s a plan to showcase the character in future projects.

Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods — and imprisoned just as quickly — Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

Black Adam is expected to release in theaters on Oct. 21.
