Star Wars: The Rebellion Begins in New Trailer for Andor

After Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi this year, Disney Star Wars is looking to cultivate stories of some newer characters. Just in, we have a new trailer for the Andor series starring Diego Luna.

Unlike TBOBF and Kenobi which looks to capitalize on its legacy characters, Andor is focusing more on Cassian and some new faces connected to the early Rebellion. I guess Mon Mothma can be considered a legacy character, but she’s more of a supporting role that’s been extended for the show.

Besides Cassian, the series has confirmed that Rogue One rebel leader Saw Gerrera is going to make an appearance in the show. There were also rumors that K-2SO would appear in the series, but I guess Disney is going to hold off on that reveal.

One new character that seems to be a major player is Stellan Skarsgard’s character. We don’t know who he is specifically, but he seems to be connected to the politicians via Mon Mothma. He also pilots a ship that seems to be in the same design family as the Millennium Falcon—down to the shape of the cockpit.

I have to say, the cracks in the Disney+ Star Wars series have started showing ever since Boba Fett, but Andor has every chance to be a fresh, original story that can be more adult than previous entries. Let’s hope it doesn’t disappoint.

Andor premieres on Disney+ on Sept. 21.
