Sometimes, fate has a way of playing with our lives. When you miss the chance, you try again. Meddling with the past is not always a good thing, but unfortunately, it is unavoidable. As an innocent life treads the darkest corners of The Purge, one faces a crucial decision.
In this week’s episode of The Purge, Jane (Amanda Warren) decides to leave the office. Meanwhile, Jenna (Hannah Emily Anderson), Lila (Lili Simmons), and Rick (Colin Woodell) finally have an encounter. As Miguel (Gabriel Chavarria) receives help from Rex (Christopher Berry), Penelope (Jessica Garza) enters the Carnival of Flesh.
Unfinished Business
Throughout the episode, flashbacks reveal Rick, Jenna, and Lila’s former relationship. Initially, the trio was into casual sexual activity together. However, their relationship abruptly ends when Jenna breaks her deal with Rick. Supposedly, the only time either of them would have sex is if they were all together. Unfortunately, Rick caught Jenna and Lila in bed together when he returns from work.
At present, Rick was in the NFFA party, looking for Jenna when he finally sees her and Lila go down the stairs. Because of this, tensions rise between Rick and Lila until Albert Stanton (Reed Diamond) steps in and ends the pressure, announcing something big for everyone to see. As Rick follows the crowd into the hall along with Albert, Jenna stood between him and Lila until Catalina (Paulina Gálvez) pulls her to the side, telling her to leave the mansion immediately.
The Outside
After regaining her composure, Jane decides to leave Mark’s (Adam Stephenson) body as well as Alison (Jessica Miesel). When Jane exits the office, a creepy man (James Ricker II) follows and tries to rape her until a group of women exit an RV and rescue Jane. The group, led by Madelyn (Sabrina Gennarino) roam around on Purge night, rescuing other women. Moments later, Marge (Jannette Sepwa) receives a call. The RV then heads to the location. Madelyn warns Jane about what she will see but reassures her that staying behind them guarantees her safety.
Life Lessons
Miguel heads back to Pete the Cop’s (Dominic Fumusa) bar, asking him for help once again. While Pete seemed reluctant at first, he agrees to help Miguel one last time. Before Miguel left to talk to Rex, Pete’s contact, Pete tells Miguel how he gave him hope to continue his Purge bar.
During the drive to the carnival, Miguel and Rex have small talk. As they conversed, Rex gives Miguel some life lessons. Their conversation ends when Miguel realizes that Rex is a collector, meaning that he brings people who are auctioned off at the Carnival of Flesh.
Meanwhile, Penelope finds herself in the Carnival of Flesh, enclosed along with other persons being auctioned off. She helps an old man named Jerry (David Dahlgren) who thought of her as his granddaughter. His confusion causes a scene that places the both of them immediately at the front of the auction line. When it was Penelope’s turn, Henry (Dylan Arnold) buys her for $2000. Penelope struggles to break free as Henry smiled at her contemplatively.
Failed Contract
The masked, armored Vigilante heads to the location of his next clients. Unfortunately, he finds his clients lying dead inside their convenience store. The Vigilante removes his mask, finally revealing his face (Lee Tergesen) as he cried in anguish.
The Purge continues on Tuesday, October 2nd, with ‘Rise Up’ at 10/9c on the USA Network.
