The Purge finally sets the streets of America on fire. Minutes after commencement, the once peaceful roads become covered in the blood of the less fortunate. However, a glimmer of hope shines in one of the darkest hours of America. Volunteer medics roam around the streets. Luckily, their safety is guaranteed by an unwritten Purge rule, prohibiting harm to come to them. Still, the roads remain unsafe, and not even your own house is safe enough.
In this week’s episode of The Purge, Rick (Colin Woodell) and Jenna (Hannah Emily Anderson) finally talk to Lila (Lili Simmons). After a mix-up in a gladiator-like show, Miguel (Gabriel Chavarria) continues to look for his sister, Penelope (Jessica Garza). Meanwhile, Jane (Amanda Warren) remembers her reasons behind her actions while she contemplates the holiday’s morality.
Sexual Tension
Throughout the party, Rick and Jenna continually try to avoid Lila. However, Lila catches them off guard. When Rick leaves Jenna to talk business with the potential investors, Lila swoops in. At first, her intentions seem friendly, asking Jenna to forget about the incident. However, when it comes to Rick, Lila says the opposite of what she does as she tries to seduce Rick. Eventually, Lila manages to corner Jenna alone by the swimming pool. There, Lila makes her move and makes out with Jenna.
Purge Race
While driving through the chaotic streets, Miguel encounters a group of medics. He helps the volunteers identify the wounded’s weak points. In return, they give him information that would help him. After saying their goodbyes, Miguel drives away to find a man named Pete The Cop (Dominic Fumusa). However, as Miguel drove, a large group of armed men stop him and force him to participate in a race to the death.
The race is broadcast live through television, hosted by a man named Otis (Lance E. Nichols). Its mechanics were simple, if you win, you live and get to keep a muscle car for yourself. If you lose, you die. The entire race was an obstacle course full of death traps and people trying to kill you. Fortunately, Miguel is a highly trained marine, so this was not a problem for him. In the end, Miguel emerges victorious and leaves with the muscle car.
Finally, Miguel arrives at Pete The Cop’s hideout. Miguel did not know how things worked in the place, so an old man approaches him. The man leads him to Pete, who does not seem to care about what Miguel is saying. As Pete left, Miguel smiled, realizing that he needed a different approach.
Purge Hitlist
Throughout the shift, Jane kept checking her phone, monitoring Bracka’s (AzMarie Livingston) progress. Since Jane does not engage in purging, she hired Bracka to kill David Ryker (William Baldwin), her boss. Jane’s reason is quite simple: David sexually misbehaves around her, especially when they are alone together. While Jane was on her way back to her office, Alison (Jessica Miesel) snoops around Jane’s belongings. Alison left in a hurry after she discovers Jane’s hitlist on her laptop. In one conversation, Alison hints at knowing about Jane’s plans but says it as a joke. If Jane is not careful, Alison could use this knowledge to her advantage soon.
The Purge continues on Tuesday, September 18th, with ‘The Urge To Purge’ at 10/9c on the USA Network.
