[00:01:00] Hannah continued speaking with Owen. She finally knew she’s dead. She told Owen that Dominic, Charlotte, Rebecca, and Peter were all dead—even she is dead. Owen knew everything because he was Hannah. Owen is just Hannah’s memory; hence, she’s just talking to herself. Hannah wanted to help everyone she left behind, but she couldn’t. She didn’t know what to do. Hannah confessed her love for Owen. She regrets not telling her the truth, but somehow, she knew that the real Owen knew about her feelings. Hannah wondered how life would’ve been if she and Owen got together. Owen told Hannah that she needed to be brave in death; she needed to help the people she left behind. She’s dead, but she didn’t want to suffer the same fate, Owen told her.
[00:04:30] Hannah went out of the manor. She told Flora to go back inside and hide. She tried to stop Viola, but she failed. Viola just went through her. She dragged Dani up the stairs then into the master bedroom. Flora managed to save Dani by pretending to be Isabel. Viola saw Flora as Isabel and took her to the lake. Peter and Rebecca were watching as Viola passed by. He told Rebecca she’s allowing her freedom to be drowned by Viola. Henry arrived just in time. He saw Viola carrying Flora across the grounds. He ran to stop Viola but found himself face-to-face with an entity he couldn’t fathom. Viola choked him to death. He stood by, seeing his dead body lying on the grounds. Dani came out of the mansion and gave chase to Viola and Flora.
[00:09:00] Jamie and Owen arrived. Hannah told the two they needed them at the lake. Jamie ran as fast as he could. Owen looked back, but Hannah was gone, so he followed Jamie. Viola and Flora were entering the lake. Flora asked Rebecca for help, so she did what she could. She told Flora to allow her in so she could drown in her place. She told Flora she wouldn’t feel a thing, and she’d be tucked away in a safe place. Flora agreed. She then woke up in a memory of Charlotte—she told Flora everything would be okay. Owen and Jamie found Henry’s lifeless body. Jamie continued to the lake while Owen stayed behind and tried his best to resuscitate Henry.
[00:11:00] Dani reached the lake just in time. A few seconds before Viola and Flora submerged themselves. Dani did the only thing she could. She uttered the words: “It’s you, it’s me, it’s us.” Viola heard the words and turned around. She approached Dani, who was looking straight at her. All the souls at Bly felt something new to them. They were finally at peace. Hannah told Henry where her body lay. She wanted Owen to know she loved him. Henry survived. He woke up in his body next to Owen, who was resuscitating him. All the other souls moved on, including Rebecca and Peter. Peter managed to apologize to Miles before disappearing. Dani allowed Viola into her body, breaking her curse and setting all the souls free. Her choice also saved Flora and Miles.
[00:14:00] Jamie and Owen went to the well the next day. They saw Hannah’s lifeless body. Owen and some men from the village lifted her body out of the well. Everyone presumed she died accidentally. Henry assumed his position in Bly as Miles and Flora’s uncle. Miles asked Henry for more stories of their parents, to which he responded that he’d tell them every story he knew about them. Owen lit a candle for Hannah. He accompanied Hannah all the way to the coroner’s office. He even cleaned her body ever so gently, with all the love and care he had for her. Owen was with Hannah until she was buried. He loved her and continued to love her until this very day.
[00:16:00] Dani started packing her things. Jamie went to her room to help her out. She was worried because she felt Viola’s presence inside her. Jamie assured Dani she would be with her every step of the way. They both said their goodbyes to Miles, Flora, and Henry. Flora asked them if they would come to visit. It would depend on where they’re going, Dani told her. Henry then said they would go to America. Dani agreed they would visit if ever they’re in America. Miles and Flora asked them where they were going after America. Jamie responded they didn’t know because it would be an adventure.
[00:20:00] Flora gave her doll to Dani. “It’s you,” she told Dani. Dani accepted it and left with Jamie. The two drove off on their adventure. They were eating dinner when Dani brought up her worries. Jamie assured her they would take everything one day at a time. Days turned into months, and finally, years. Before they knew it, they were already celebrating five years as a couple. Dani finally felt peace in her heart. But that peace was shattered one day—she saw Viola in her reflection while she was walking back to their flower shop, which shook her to the very core. After a few seconds, everything went back to normal.
[00:25:00] Dani went back to their apartment, where Jamie was cooking for them. She showed Jamie a plant she found by the street. Dani wanted to save the plant because it was dying. They switched places so Jamie could check the plant—she lifted the plant out of the pot and found a ring. Jamie asked Dani why there was a ring, so she explained. Dani proposed to Jamie. She knew they couldn’t get married but wearing the rings was enough for her. Jamie responded wearing the rings was also enough for her. They went to Owen’s restaurant to celebrate. He named it “A Better Place” as a tribute to Hannah, whose picture sits in her very own corner of the restaurant.
[00:27:30] Owen proposed a toast for Hannah. One of the waiters brought Dani a glass of water. She saw Viola’s reflection on the stainless pitcher. Owen told them that Henry and the children went by his place for the holidays. Miles and Flora have forgotten the events in Bly entirely. Henry still remembers it, but the siblings didn’t even remember their time with Hannah. They recognized her picture, but it was pretty blank, which surprised Owen. Back at their place, Dani and Jamie were washing the dishes. Jamie asked Dani if they would talk, but she wasn’t responding. Jamie took her silence as a no.
[00:31:00] As Dani was finishing one of the dishes, she saw Viola’s reflection on the water. She dropped the plate, which shattered into pieces upon impact. Jamie knew something was wrong with Dani, so she asked her. Dani told her she saw Viola. Jamie drained the sink and told Dani everything would be fine and not think of the worse immediately. She told Dani she’s going to help her get through it. The next night, Jamie got home with their civil union certificate. She was speaking to Dani, but she didn’t know what was happening. Water was coming out of their bathroom like it was flooding. Jamie saw the water coming out of the bathroom and immediately went inside. She saw Dani kneeling in front of the bathtub staring at her reflection.
[00:33:00] Dani sees Viola’s reflection, but Jamie only sees Dani’s reflection. She told Jamie each day that passes is getting harder on her. She’s no longer afraid of Viola, but each day, all that she can see is her. There was pain in Jamie’s eyes. She was doing her best to be strong for both of them. Dani wanted to give up. She wanted to accept the fact that Viola was taking over and just leave. Jamie responded that even if Dani no longer feels anything, she will do everything for both of them.
[00:35:30] Dani was having a dream: a hand pulled Jamie underwater. Dani suddenly woke up, and she saw herself on top of Jamie. She was about to choke her while she’s sleeping. Dani left Jamie a letter. She woke up the next day and saw the letter. Jamie knew where Dani was going, so she followed her. Jamie returned to Bly. She immediately went to the lake and swam beneath it. Jamie saw Dani lying on the bottom of the lake. Dani became the lady of the lake. She couldn’t allow herself to be consumed by Viola. She didn’t want to drag Jamie down the lake with her. Jamie said the exact words Dani did five years ago: “It’s me, it’s you, it’s us.” Jamie begged Dani to take her as well.
[00:39:00] Dani didn’t want to take Jamie, and she didn’t want to take anyone else. After that, no one else was ever taken, and the curse finally ended. Jamie swam back to the edge of the lake and eventually moved on. She continued her days staring endlessly at her own reflection, waiting to see Dani’s face again. She would leave her door open, just a small gap, hoping that the love of her life would come back. We go back to the wedding, where the storyteller is just about done. She told everyone that Dani would also forget about her past like Viola and everyone else before her. She would slowly fade away as time dictates.
[00:41:00] The storyteller told everyone that Dani wouldn’t pull others to the lake like Viola did. Dani would peacefully roam the grounds of Bly in the memory that Jamie remembers her. The storyteller ended her story and told the guests she warned them that it wasn’t short. They all laughed at her. One of the guests asked her if her story was true. The guest asked if she would find Bly manor in England and hopefully get a glimpse of the lady in the lake. The storyteller told everyone they might not find a place in England called Bly manor, but if they were to be able to find the manor itself, they could perhaps get a glimpse of Dani.
[00:43:00] One of the guests looked at his watch and realized it was late. They all decided to go to bed along with the groom. The bride, however, decided to stay a few more minutes to talk with the storyteller. She told the storyteller about a mistake at the beginning of the story. She said it would be a ghost story, but it turned out to be a love story. The storyteller responded that a ghost and love story were one and same. But she did tell the bride to make the changes she recommended if she would ever retell the story to another person. The bride and the storyteller ended up talking about her marriage the next day.
[00:45:00] The storyteller gave the bride some life advice. The bride didn’t want to wake up alone one day. She doesn’t know how she will live her remaining days alone. The storyteller told her she needed to focus on the present and take one day at a time with her husband to be. She needs to focus on their love instead of their time apart. After their talk, the bride knew it was time to go to bed. She told the storyteller it was a coincidence because her middle name was Flora, and the girl in her story was also named Flora.
[00:47:00] The storyteller attended the wedding and reception the next day. She looked at everyone in attendance. The bride and groom finally entered the reception and started dancing. After a few moments, it’s revealed that Owen is the speaker of the wedding. Standing beside him is Miles. We see the bride change back into a young Flora as she dances with her Uncle Henry. The storyteller turns out to be Jamie.
[00:48:00] Jamie returned to her apartment and got ready for bed. She filled her bathtub and sink with water. She took a few seconds and stared at her own reflection, still hoping she would be able to see Dani’s face. After that, she went out of the bathroom and positioned one of her chairs to face the front door. Jamie opened the door and left a small gap. She sat on the chair and slowly dozed off. As soon as she fell asleep, Dani’s hand appeared on her shoulder, still holding on to her, waiting for the day that they would be together again.
