Switching sides is a messy, awkward situation. While the Inner Circle continues to advance their preparation, the Mutant Underground desperately tries to pick up their trail. A sort of a bridge forms when one visits the other side. However, the Inner Circle’s plans for The Gifted world have no room for a reunion.
In this week’s episode of The Gifted, the Inner Circle brings Marcos Diaz/Eclipse (Sean Teale) to stabilize Dawn’s condition. Meanwhile, John Proudstar/Thunderbird (Blair Redford) and Clarice Fong/Blink (Jamie Chung) follow Evangeline Whedon’s (Erinn Ruth) lead. As all this happens, the Strucker family sorts out their family issues.
Failure
While the rest of the team went about their business, Thunderbird and Blink seek out a mutant named Erg (Michael Luwoye). It took them a while to try to find him, but when they do, they see an extreme show of force. However, Erg agrees to talk to Blink but Blink alone. During their conversation, Erg stresses that he needs something in return.
As they stood in the physically underground Mutant society, Blink agrees to spy for him. In exchange, Blink and Thunderbird learn about the Frost Sisters’ (Skyler Samuels) recent underground exploits that involved tapping into the Health Department’s cables. When the duo arrives home, Clarice manages to get John to open up to her about his trouble dealing with his failure to lead the Mutant Underground.
Fatherly Love
After being sent away by Thunderbird and Blink, Eclipse heads to a local diner. In the restaurant, Eclipse hears the Frost Sisters calling out to him. When he finds them, they take him to their headquarters. Moments later, Eclipse emotionally reunites with Lorna Dane/Polaris (Emma Dumont). As they stood there, Polaris shut down most of his emotional appeals. While they talked, Eclipse stabilizes Dawn using his powers.
Unfortunately, Eclipse’s stay at the Inner Circle’s HQ had to end. Once Dawn’s condition stabilized, the doctor took her from Eclipse’s arms. The Frost Sisters then told him to leave, but he was reluctant at first, so they used their abilities on him. However, Eclipse broke free due to the strength of his emotions. As Eclipse went back to get to Lorna and Dawn, Reeva Payge (Grace Byers) stops him by using his abilities. In the end, the beaten Eclipse returns home, collapsing in front of Thunderbird and Blink.
Disintegrate
The air felt chilly between the Struckers. Caitlin Strucker (Amy Acker) noticed how Lauren Strucker (Natalie Alyn Lind) maintained her silence, so she asks Reed Strucker (Stephen Moyer) to take her with him on his supply run. The couple reconciled after their argument the other night, and Reed agrees to take Lauren with him.
On the way back, Reed tries to talk Lauren into opening up. While driving, Reed receives Caitlin’s call. During the call, Reed struggled to answer since he dealt with his strange headache. Unfortunately, Reed’s powers started to manifest, disintegrating the steering wheel and landing them into a car accident.
Reed and Lauren quickly flee the scene, taking the medical supplies with them. Unknowingly, they evade Jace Turner (Coby Bell) who managed to get in touch with the local police force about his suspicions. Once they arrive at the hospital, Reed bluntly tells Caitlin everything, who hugs him in return. Lauren stood outside, happy to see that her parents are okay.
The Gifted continues on Tuesday, October 16th with ‘outMatched’ at 8/9c on Fox.
