The Flash 'Crisis On Earth X' Part 3 Recap: Familiar Strangers to the Rescue [SPOILERS]

The Flash (Grant Gustin) was supposed to have the wedding of his dreams but the Nazis decided to crash it. The Arrowverse crossover event continues with “The Flash,” picking up right where we left them, trapped in a concentration camp on Earth-X. Our heroes need to find a way to get out fast, especially when they are wearing special collars hindering them to use their powers. “Crisis On Earth X” part 3 is gearing up for an action-packed and heartbreaking conclusion—because not all of our heroes make it back.

Rescued by a Familiar Face

Waking up to a concentration camp is not exactly where Barry expected to be in during his wedding day. The sirens start blowing up and the Earth-X version of Detective Lance welcomes them to their execution. They are joined by another member from Earth-prime, Ray Terril (Russel Tovey) otherwise known as The Ray. Lance and his Nazi henchmen gather our heroes in an open field with a firing squad to kill them all. As if to pay respects to Dark Arrow, Lance covered Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) face before execution. As soon as the firing squad is ready, Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) shows up and freezes their weapons.

Our heroes ran to the other direction and hid from the open fire. Ray playfully teases Snart how he took his lovely time saving them. Snart frees Ray from his power-dampening collar allowing him to help the others escape. Ray and Snart took our heroes to their Freedom Fighters’ base. It was a bittersweet surprise for Alex (Chyler Leigh) to find the Earth-X version of Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) leading them. Unfortunately, unlike Earth-Prime Winn, he’s not too keen on helping our heroes escape. This version of Winn only wants to blow the concentration camp. Saving a group of leather-clad heroes wasn’t part of the itinerary of the day.

Back in STAR labs, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) wakes up trapped in one of the holding cells he helped build. He is trapped along with Team Arrow, Wells (Tom Cavanagh), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), and Mick (Dominic Purcell). Meanwhile, Thawne is about to operate a heart transplant between Kara and Overgirl. The only people not trapped in STAR labs are Iris (Candice Patton) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). The two try to find a way to free their superfriends and stop the operation. Iris and Felicity get to the pipeline, taking out a pair of Nazi guards along the way. Felicity was able to cut the power to the facility, disabling all of Thawne’s tools needed for the procedure. The two leading ladies rush to the operating area to save Kara (Melissa Benoist)—until they were stopped by the elevator and recaptured by the Nazis.
Thawne corners them and demands from Felicity to give them the code that would bring the power back on. After refusing, Thawne threatens her life. As he was about to drill his hand into her chest, Kara walks in and tells Felicity to give the code. It’s better for Supergirl to die rather than have someone die because of her.
Nothing good is happening on Earth-prime: Cisco and the others are still trapped while Kara agrees to go through the procedure to save her friends.

The Flash, Green Arrow, Firestorm, and Black Canary Go Undercover

When all seems hopeless back on Earth-X, Snart and Ray were able to convince Winn to help our heroes. But they only have one hour before the camp gets blown to smithereens. With the time limit, they devised a plan where Oliver pretends to be his Earth-X version.  They were able to sneak into the facility where the breach is located. Thank God for Oliver’s acting skills, because he was able to fool Lance enough for him to reveal their doomsday device. Oliver had to play the part properly so there wouldn’t be any suspicion. He signs off on the order for the Doomsday device to be breached over to Earth-1.

It was convincing enough until Lance brings out Felicity’s doppelganger to be executed. But Oliver refuses to carry out the assassination, blowing his cover. He was able to clear the room but his orders ruined their plan. Winn finds out about the Doomsday device and sends in Red Tornado to destroy the facility earlier than expected. Snart informs the others they only have a tiny window of opportunity left. The group suits up and take on the Nazis guarding the breach. Our heroes begin taking down guards one by one, while The Flash and The Ray work on disabling Red Tornado.
Back in the facility, Jax (Franz Drameh) and Stein (Victor Garber) split up to cover more ground and to open the breach more efficiently. But before making a break for the breach controls, Stein was shot from behind.
“Legends of Tomorrow” will tie the loose ends on the final part of “Crisis On Earth-X.”
