The Final 3 Episode of Andor will Lead Into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

We were introduced to Cassian Andor in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but Lucasfilm gave him his own spotlight years later with the fantastic Disney+ series Andor. Now Diego Luna and show creator Tony Gilroy are gearing up for a final second season, and Gilroy confirms everything will tie directly to Rogue One.
Talking to Empire, Gilroy explains that the last three episodes of Andor will be the ‘last three days before Rogue One.” We don’t really have any specifics as to what happens, but our introduction to Cassian does have him hunting down an informant who tells him about the Death Star, right before he guns him down to prevent the stormtroopers from interrogating him—it’s a pretty cold scene.
With Andor essentially showing us Cassian’s embracing of the Rebellion, we should expect more of this ‘political’ back and forth throughout the series. While we know that the Empire is no good, Gilroy does talk about how the Rebel side isn’t as clean either. He continues:
“Some of [the show’s] core ingredients are secrecy and paranoia and lack of trust and betrayal. So, how difficult is it to build a revolution?… And what happens to the original gangsters, as other people get involved?”
No release date has been announced for Andor 2, but hopefully we can get an announcement by the end of the year. Catch the complete first season now streaming on Disney+.
