The crew of the USS Enterprise is ready to take the spotlight again, and fans have been waiting for another look at Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Just in, we have a new trailer, and it features the crew that was running the ship before James Kirk came onboard.
Watch this:
STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The series will feature fan favorites from season two of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY: Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock. The series will follow Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock and Number One in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.
While Discovery may be pretty serious when it comes to its tone, it feels like Strange New Worlds is going to have a lighter approach, with Pike acting a lot more cocky and full of quips. We also see that the Spock in this show isn’t a stranger to romantic entanglements.
Though we do have some familiar faces from the Original Series like Spock and Uhura, the Enterprise at this time is also full of new characters that we have yet to meet. Besides Number One, I’m excited to see who else is helping run the ship, and maybe we might even meet some characters from shows like Discovery.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premieres on Paramount+ this May 5.
