'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' EP Teases Cast and 'A Very Dark Show'

It’s indeed a great year for classics and remakes alike. “Riverdale” returns on The CW this Wednesday, and it’s already being teased as a show that involves supernatural themes. Apart from that, “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” will also be having its own show on the network, and it’s downright exciting.
What we know so far is that the Sabrina spin-off will be called “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and will be a dark drama that’s set within the horror genre. A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s sure to premiere sometime in 2018. The show will also be a coming-of-age story that will highlight the occult and witchcraft themes of the new comic line. It will show how Sabrina comes to terms with her origins as a half-human and half-witch.

New ‘The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ details coming soon

In a report by SyFy Wire, “Riverdale” executive producer Jon Goldwater teases “a very different show” once “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” premieres next year. “Yes, she’s still a teenager, and still a witch, but this is going to be a very different show,” Goldwater said during the New York Comic Con this weekend. “It’s very much in the vein of the current comic. It’s a heck of a lot darker, more dramatic, and it has tons of action and adventure.”
And as for the actor to play the role of Sabrina, Gold water said that fans are definitely going to get excited about the reveal. “We’ve started casting for Sabrina the character,” Goldwater announced. “You’ll be able to meet her soon.”
Meanwhile, the script for “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” also appears to be finished, as “Riverdale” showrunner Roberto Aguirre Sacasa recently shared an update on Twitter.

Now it’s only a matter of time before the world can finally see who will play Sabrina. But in the meantime, fans can get a taste of what to expect once “Riverdale” premieres tomorrow, October 11 at 8/7c on The CW.
