The Final Question

The promos for tonight’s mid-season finale have been teasing The Big Blacklist Question (catch the latest below if you missed out) which, unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last four years, is this: Is Red Elizabeth’s real father?

The promos seem to suggest we’re finally about get an answer to that question, but we all know how deceiving promos can be.  In case you’re in any doubt, we can confirm that yes, we will learn who Liz’s real father is during tonight’s episode.

Did Red falsify Liz’s blood work in order to remove Liz from Kirk’s sphere of influence? Even Red throws shade on the idea of either of them being her father at one point. Speaking of Liz’s mother Katerina, Red tells an agonized Kirk “I’m sure you always thought I was the interloper. The truth is I was an assignment. I’m sure you were too.”

But is that all there is to the story? Kirk is determined to find out, even if he has to tie Red to a chair and fill him full of painful heart-stopping drugs in order to get at the truth.

We’re not going to name names here but we do think the answer is revealing, intriguing, maddening and satisfying, all at the same time. You’ll know what we mean when the name finally drops.
