The Penguin may not have been the main villain of The Batman, but he still had a memorable part to play in the film in that we get to watch him try and escape the new Batmobile. To further hype the release of The Batman on the platform, HBO Max has decided to officially share the car chase scene between Oz Cobblepot and the Dark Knight.
Watch this:
While it does feature the whole chase scene, I am kind of irked that they didn’t include the whole introduction of the Batmobile. While we have several versions of the same car from the past, Matt Reeves’ bat-car is really special in that it’s treated like a horror movie monster—and the introduction was just perfect, from the sounds to the silhouette.
Hopefully HBO Max doesn’t release the full film online to get more subscribers interested in their platform. Besides this scene and the introduction of Batman, I don’t know what other scenes they can drop to promote this movie even further.
With the movie crossing $700 million at the box office, some fans think The Batman may actually be able to hit that $1 billion mark. Hopefully the release of the movie on HBO Max didn’t hurt its chances. It’s definitely a memorable take on the character, while at the same time a critique on how the Batman has been portrayed in modern times. I’m eager to watch Battinson in the future make his move from ‘Vengeance’ to ‘Hope’.
Batman ventures into Gotham City’s underworld when a sadistic killer leaves behind a trail of cryptic clues. As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans become clear, he must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued the metropolis.
Catch The Batman now in theaters and on HBO Max.
