‘The Bachelorette’ Season 14, Episode 3 Recap: Love hurts [SPOILERS]

Love always finds a way. This week on The Bachelorette, our hopeful Becca Kufrin witnesses not only one, but two of her bachelors suffer from injuries, forcing one of them to leave the show!

Learn to live with the truth

The week started strong with a group date that forced everyone to confront the Colton and Tia issue because Tia was there and involved in the group challenge.

We lately discovered in The Bachelorette episode 2 that Colton had dated Becca’s friend Tia before going to the show. To further investigate Colton’s real intentions, Becca had Tia, and a bunch of her friends pampered by some guys, including Colton. With Tia backing up Colton’s take on things, everyone still pondered on the question: was Colton only dating Tia hoping she would become the Bachelorette?

After an awkward situation for Colton, he managed to handle and rise above the challenge. He was not only given another shot to prove himself to Becca but also was awarded the group date rose.

Ramble and Squabble

After the unexpected wild move that Jordan pulled off on David during last week’s episode comes a new face off. The issue was about Jordan getting 4,000 dating app matches in 2017. When David received the news, he did not hesitate to talk to Becca about it. Later on, Jordan tried to smooth things out with Becca. But what happened caused a heated exchange of words by David and Jordan.

First Blood

Call 911! A bloody incident has transpired. One of our hopeful bachelors, David, got rushed to the hospital after Blake found him lying on a pool of his own blood. So what happened? David fell out of his bunk while sleeping. Currently, he is in intensive care, so it looks like he would not be in the mansion for a while.

Touchdown or Wrist Down?

The second group date kicked off with the first annual “Becca Bowl” with Clay, Leo, Christon, Ryan, John, Garett, Mike, Lincoln, Connor, and Blake. It was a rough and tumble game as it was hosted by Chris Harrison and retired football star Keyshawn Johnson. Meanwhile, Clay, being a football player himself, was a clear favorite as he and the rest of the Blue Team tried to win. The White Team, on the other hand, had the lead but it ended up with a tie during the game’s final play.

Unfortunately, Clay, during his full-on beast mode, got injured on his touchdown-scoring run. He potentially might have broken his wrist and was rushed to the emergency room to have it checked. He managed to make it back for the end of the date, though. His persistence and desire to be with Becca earned him the second group date rose.

‘The Bachelorette’ Season 14, Episode 3 Eliminations

Before the Rose Ceremony, The doctors who diagnosed Clay announced that his wrist was broken. Now, he needs to decide between getting surgery so he could keep providing for his family or staying with Becca. He later on decided what is best for his family and left for surgery.

With Clay going home and the show exceeding its time slot, The Bachelorette skipped the rose ceremony. So all of us are now left wondering: What might have happened if Clay chose to stay?, Who will get Clay’s rose? It is anyone’s game at this point.

The Bachelorette Season 14 continues next Monday, June 18th, at 8/7c on ABC.
