The Season 22 Finale of “The Bachelor” was filled with intensity and heartwarming emotions. It was shocking to know that today’s season was filmed in two separate days. But after ten weeks and a three-hour finale, Arie Luyendyk Jr. finally made his decision. During last week’s episode, Arie chose to send Kendall Long home leaving Becca Kufrin and Lauren Burnham on his list.
An overly dramatic ending
After being heartbroken on national television by Emily Maynard back in 2012, Arie got a second chance in love in “The Bachelor.” With only two women remaining among the twenty-nine participants, he got down on one knee and proposed to Becca Kufrin. Arie said that he was fortunate that Becca was with him throughout his journey and that she had given him so much confidence along the way. He added that his love for Becca is unmeasurable. Becca answered him with the big word “YES.”
Arie also ended his relationship with Lauren Burnham during the final rose ceremony in Peru and chose to propose to Becca. But the show didn’t stop there. While Arie seemed to ask for Becca’s hand in Marriage, he only to break things off in the end.
When the couple went back to the U.S, Arie admitted that his decision unsettled him, so Arie decided to talk to his fiancée. Arie said that he’s been trying to sort his feelings and grasp the whole marriage thing but still thinks about Lauren. The more he spends time with Becca, the more it reminds Arie of Lauren too. Arie added that he needs to follow his heart. He wants to take the risk and see if there’s a possibility with Lauren. With all the words, phrases, and sentences that Arie said, Becca remained speechless, and one can feel how hurt she is.
Well, Mr. Arie Luyendyk Jr, your “sorry” will never be enough to replace the happiness Becca felt when you proposed to her and the pain she when you broke things off. We hope that you could honestly be happy with your decision. We sure do hope!
Becca Kufrin breaks her silence
Meanwhile, Becca opened up about her failed relationship with Arie. In an interview with PEOPLE, Becca said that she doesn’t think Arie intentionally hurt her. Although, Becca was sure that he didn’t thoroughly think things through. She added that she was extremely happy when Arie chose her. Becca even came to a point where her heart would burst because it was filled with love and excitement. But in the end, she wished that Arie never proposed to her.
“The Bachelor” Finale wasn’t that good on Becca’s part, but the most important thing is that the show taught her to be wiser when it comes to love and to never do the same thing again on her next relationship. As for Arie and Lauren, it is their right to be happy together, so no one has the power to hinder them.
“The Bachelor” Season 22 ends with the saying, “In the game of love, someone wins, and someone loses.”
