Welcome to the day after Judgement Day. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton return to the big screen for another Terminator film. The trailer for ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ was just released, and it’s the latest installment in the Sci-Fi/Adventure series directed by Tim Miller, with help from producer James Cameron.
Terminator: Dark Fate picks up where Terminator 2: Judgment Day left off and features not only the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger as T-800 but also Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor. Sarah’s back and better than before, having way bigger guns and ready to fight robot scum.
After all this Time
What happened after Judgement Day? The answer everyone’s been waiting for is finally here. James Cameron told The Hollywood Reporter in 2017 that the film will be “a continuation of the story from ‘Terminator 1’ and ‘Terminator 2.’ And we’re pretending the other films were a bad dream.” For months, plot details on Terminator: Dark Fate has been kept from the public eye until the recently dropped trailer. The Terminator franchise involves time-traveling cyborgs attempting to kill or protect leaders of human civilization’s war against military technology that has turned against humanity.
The film’s story was conceptualized by Miller—who also directed Deadpool—and series co-creator James Cameron. Terminator: Dark Fate will be the sixth installment in the franchise series, also serving as the direct sequel to The Terminator (1984) and Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991). The premise for Terminator: Dark Fate begins more than two decades after Judgement Day, where Sarah sets out to protect a young woman named Dani Ramos and her friends. With the help of a protecting Terminator cyborg named Grace (Mackenzie Davis), they are hunted down by a shape-shifting liquid alloy machine sent from the future to kill them.
