It seems Arnold Schwarzenegger’s days with the “Terminator” franchise is finally over. The “Terminator” was supposed to kick off a new trilogy of the series but Paramount Pictures have already decided to pull out possible sequels. With the “The Sarah Conner Chronicles” TV series and the “Terminator Genisys” film under criticism, fans wonder if these could be the probable causes of why the film was pulled out.
The Termination of Terminator
It was revealed that “Terminator 6” was back on track, with “Avatar” director James Cameron producing the film and “Deadpool” director Tim Miller helming it. However, in a recent report by New York Daily News, “Terminator 6” has been pulled out of Paramount’s schedule altogether.
The report also stated that Arnold Schwarzenegger does not want to continue with the franchise as well. Emilia Clarke, who plays Sarah Connor in the current installment, had also sad that she didn’t want to return to the role. Everything else is bad news from there on, and fans can only guess that the film franchise’s ship won’t be sailing anymore.
“Terminator Genisys” actually did fairly well in the box office, almost close to breaking even. Without James Cameron actually directing any of the next few films there’s no way of saying how the next films would do. Fans can only hope for the next talks about a reboot to happen, but given the current situation of losing Schwarzenegger, who knows when?
