We know that director Christopher Nolan pretty much has a unique voice when it comes to films, so we should expect something else when it comes to his upcoming biopic Oppenheimer. Just in, the first teaser has been dropped for the movie—and it’s not even your usual teaser.
If you watch the video on Youtube, you’ll find that the Oppenheimer teaser is actually playing on a loop, counting down to the release of the movie. Check it:
Here’s the synopsis:
Physicist J Robert Oppenheimer works with a team of scientists during the Manhattan Project, leading to the development of the atomic bomb.
The teaser only features Murphy’s Oppenheimer character, but we do get a lot of chaotic visuals spliced along with an ever-updating countdown.
Besides Cillian Murphy, the film has managed to amass a star-studded cast that includes the likes of Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, and Florence Pugh. Other familiar faces included in the film are Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Rami Malek, and Alden Ehrenreich. Nolan vets also include Kenneth Branagh and Gary Oldman.
What are the odds that Michael Caine will show up as well?
Though Nolan has been known for his science fiction and action films, he has recently been trying out his hand at period films with Dunkirk. Now this looks to be his first biopic, but we should still expect some of his signature non-linear storytelling.
Oppenheimer drops into theaters on July 21, 2023.
