Take a Look Behind-the-Scenes of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

We’ve been getting a lot of promotional material for the Doctor Strange sequel lately, but now we have a new featurette that actually gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the film—besides some new shots from the actual movie.

“Telling the stories was such a gigantic endeavor. It had to be large because it not only had to paint a picture of our universe but of multiple universes,” said director Sam Raimi, “It was a great opportunity to pair two of the most powerful superheroes together.” And by two of the most powerful, it’s implied that Raimi means Strange and Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Scarlet Witch.

We also have some shots of Wong that I’m starting to think hint at his death. With him taking over the role of Sorcerer Supreme in Spider-Man: No Way Home, his death would re-establish Strange as the SS, plus, Wong essentially functions as a mentor to Strange, and his death could that second act push that gets him to fight the villain—who some are sure is going to be Wanda.

Admittedly, Marvel has been very vague with the story of Doctor Strange 2, but just like with No Way Home, it’s probably because they are hiding some huge cameos in the film. While cameos are fun to spot, I’m just hoping that the movie treats them with more importance to the story, rather than just having an endless fanservice parade with pre-MCU versions of characters.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness comes to theaters on May 6.
