'Supernatural' Season 13 Spoilers: Castiel And 'The Rising Son'

In this week’s new episode of “Supernatural” Season 13 (Episode 2), the Winchester brothers encounter a new Prince of Hell. Meanwhile, Misha Collins and the showrunners offer teasers about Castiel. Be warned, this article contains spoilers.
In the first episode of the thirteenth season, Dean (Jensen Ackles) prays to Chuck a.k.a. God, asking for things to be normal again. He says he would even take Crowley (Mark Sheppard) back. Fans know how much he loves Castiel and how rare it is for him to call on God for help. Based on an interview with showrunners, some of Dean’s prayers will be granted eventually. Some.
“Supernatural” showrunners have confirmed the return of Castiel (Misha Collins). However, Crowley is not going to return as a series regular. See Sheppard’s Instagram post below.
Collins said fans should still be ready for bad things to happen even after Castiel returns. “Good things never last on this show,” Collins told Entertainment Weekly. He joked further, “because the writers are evil.”

Where is Castiel now?

Castiel’s return will be seen in “Supernatural” Season 3, Episode 3. The episode will premiere on Oct. 26 on The CW.
“He remembers right up until the moment that he was killed, but he’s infused with a little bit of the old Cas. He’s back to full power.” Collins told EW. In addition, he will be back with full power to protect Lucifer’s son, nephilim Jack (Alexander Calvert).
Co-showrunner Robert Singer told EW Castiel is in a “very, very dark place” that viewers have already seen in the fantasy drama.

Supernatural 13 x 2: Jack’s Nephilim Abilities

Ahead of Castiel’s return, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean explore the extent of Jack’s abilities as Lucifer’s son. Donatello (guest star Keith Szarbajka) gives them some advice.
Still in this week’s new episode, the Winchesters and Jack deal with a new Prince of Hell in town, Asmodeus (guest star Jeffrey Vincent Parise). There is a good chance that fans will continue to see what is going on between Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) and Mary (Sam Smith) in Bizarroworld a.k.a. alternate-reality Earth. Will Jack save Mary from his own dad?

Meanwhile, here’s Mark Sheppard with a message for “Supernatural” fans:

“Supernatural” Season 13, Episode 2 (“The Rising Son”) was directed by Thomas J. Wright and written by Eugenie Ross-Leming and Brad Buckner.
