Rachel Brosnahan is closing the book on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but she could be jumping over to the big screen very soon.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brosnahan is one of several actresses who are currently in the running to play Lois Lane in Superman: Legacy, but Brosnahan was pointed out as one who submitted an ‘outstanding’ audition.
Besides Brosnahan, other names said to be on the Lois Lane shortlist include Emma Mackey (Sex Education), Samara Weaving (Ready or Not), and Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton).
As a huge fan of Mrs. Maisel, you can say that I would be very excited should Brosnahan get the role. After all, I think the role of Lois Lane needs someone who is plucky and tough, all traits that Brosnahan showed off with her Midge character. When it comes to Lois, I think the character always has to be written as an unstoppable woman, because she’s paired with a literally invulnerable man (of steel).
So far, nothing official has been announced for Superman: Legacy besides the fact that the film is still undergoing the casting process. With a release date set for 2025, hopefully we get the reveal of the casting of Superman and the rest of the Daily Planet crew before the year ends.
Catch Superman: Legacy when it comes to cinemas on July 11, 2025. In the meantime, you can check out James Gunn’s latest comic book adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, now screening in theaters. You can also watch Brosnahan in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
