Supergirl Season 3 To Pick Up Right After Last Season’s Finale

Not much has been revealed on what’s to come for “Supergirl” Season 3. Now, David Harewood (J’onn J’onzz/Martian Manhunter) has provided us new details on the upcoming season. According to Harewood, “Supergirl” Season 3 will pick up a few minutes after Season 2 ended.

There were many questions raised after the season 2 finale (aptly titled “Nevertheless, She Persisted”). After Kara’s successful mission of saving the Earth yet again, a number of events followed suit: Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie’s (Floriana Lima) engagement, Mon-El leaving for space, and what seems to be another Kryptonian alien floating around waiting to be found.

Supergirl Season 3: Another Long Crazy Journey

In an interview with Comicbook.com, Harewood shared that viewers won’t have to think about the possible ramifications of last season’s finale as the premiere of Season 4 would start moments after it ended. “It’s the start of another long season, and I think that lots of stories are going to unfold as we go on. Season 3 picks up minutes later, just after season 2 ended, so you don’t have this whole enormous leap you’re going to have to make. I think we’re all about to go on another season’s long crazy journey,” Harewood said.

Melissa Benoist also added that Kara will be feeling the weight of Mon-El’s life as she decides to save him in season 3. “The tone is definitely different this season. Obviously, things were not so great for Kara at the end of season 2, having to send Mon-El (Chris Wood) into we don’t know where. He went into a chasm in space. But it’s definitely going to affect her,” Benoist added.

Things weren’t exactly that good for Kara and Mon-El when they met. However, as they spent more time together and set aside their differences, their friendship eventually showed. Then, they moved on to a romantic relationship, which was subsequently halted. “Supergirl’s” new showrunners, Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner previously shared a few details about Mon-El’s disappearance and, come season 4, return.

Another thing to be excited about for “Supergirl” Season 4 is Calista Flockhart’s return as the Queen of all Media, Cat Grant. She will be reclaiming her position as the head of CatCo.

“Supergirl” Season3 premieres Monday, October 9th at 8/7c on The CW.
