'Supergirl' Season 3: Kara Danvers Will Get A Cool, New Suit

Kara Danvers will be getting a new suit in “Supergirl” Season 3. That’s according to its star, Melissa Benoist. Fans of the “Supergirl” TV show have faithfully followed Benoist as “Supergirl” from CBS to The CW, where its now a part of the network’s DCTV Universe called “Arrowverse.” Since then, Kara/Supergirl has been continuously evolving, and it looks like there’s more to her character both physically and psychologically.
Details on the upcoming third season of “Supergirl” are currently very few, but what we do know is that the show will premiere after the New York Comic-Con this October and that Kevin Smith will return to direct more episodes. And now, it looks like a new change is coming, and it involves a slight costume change for Kara.

A new suit for ‘Supergirl’

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Benoist revealed some details about Kara’s new suite. According to the actress, she will get “something new, if not permanent” to wear in Season 3. “There is a different suit that I will be wearing at some point this season, but I won’t tell you when or to what capacity. It’s cool, though,” Benoist said.
Her statement may not be that juicy for those hungry for more details, but if you read between the lines, it could be a clue as to where the plot could go. Why would Kara need to temporarily change her suit rather than upgrade it entirely? It’s possible that Kara might be leveling up to face a new and bigger threat, or just simply disguising herself for a mission against season 3’s big villain Reing (Odette Annable). It looks like this bigger threat could call for a suit upgrade for Kara. Incidentally, Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen will also have a new suit upgrade for “The Flash” Season 4.

Aside from this news, a couple of other characters in the show will also undergo some changes too. Winn Schott will take on a “leadership” role at the DEO, and Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) will also be at far greater risk of falling into a darker path like her brother Lex.
“Supergirl” Season 3 premieres Monday, October 9th on The CW.
