Suits Review: Hardman Draws First Blood in

By Lewis Richards

"Uninvited Guests" saw Team Pearson Specter Litt against the ropes as a host of familiar faces made an appearance in Suits' penultimate episode.

Following a night of unexpected revelations (none of which featured Mike's fake law degree) heads will inevitably roll in next week's summer finale. The only question is who's?

While Louis - and Donna - feel at least semi responsible for all that has happened, Harvey looks like he may be the one to take the bullet if there is no other way to save the firm.

Can Pearson Specter Litt escape Daniel Hardman's aggressive takeover without losing Harvey in the process?

And will Mike and Rachel's wedding plans dissolve under the weight of good intentions?

Let's recap!

Mike and Rachel meanwhile kick off the episode by reaffirming their love for each other now that the threat (in the form of Claire) has subsided. But are they out of the woods? It seems like Mike’s past will be a much more prominent issue than first anticipated by the PSL Sweethearts.

As expected, the loved-up couple hit another bump in the road in the form of Rachel’s mother who insists they proceed with the ‘big wedding’ Rachel has always dreamed of. First order of business? A wedding announcement in the New York Times, and the Dean of Harvard law is on the guest list. Oh Mike, will your demons ever stop chasing you around? And is it fair to bring Rachel along for the ride?

Despite attempts from Rachel’s mother to persuade Mike to give Rachel the day she secretly wants, Mike reaches out to the closest thing he has to family, his old frenemy Trevor.

Trevor, now completely reformed and married (to Jenny?), refuses to attend Mike’s wedding as it contradicts his reformation to be part of ‘that world’. He proceeds to advise Mike to resign.

Bells start to ring for Mike as he has now been advised by two separate sources that he should either resign or break off his wedding plans.

Mike seems to have arrived at this point without thinking that his deceptions could interfere further with his personal life. For a guy who has been so sharp in the office he hasn’t given much thought to what he is doing by letting his nearest and dearest in on his secret.

From next week’s preview we know someone is going down, but is it going to be Mike who takes the bullet?
