Netflix has just released the newest trailer for “Stranger Things” Season 2 during its Comic-Con 2017 panel in San Diego. This marks the first time that the show had a panel in the event since the show was released last year’s a week before the 2016 Comic-Con International. The shown went on to be the streaming giant’s most popular original series, especially due to its 80’s setting and many pop culture references from that era.
All of these elements will be back for another season as “Stranger Things” Season 2 returns days before Halloween while exploring darker themes and new monsters (one that is obviously more vicious than the Demogorgon, as shown by the poster).
Is Will Byers Still Stuck In The Upside Down In Stranger Things Season 2?
The link between our world and the Upside Down has been kept open towards the end of Season 1. Will Byers returned to his family only to find out that there are still some remnants left of what he experienced in the other dimension. Apparently, Will hasn’t yet discovered the full extent of the Upside Down’s effects to him. While most of our key residents in Hawkins, Indiana are fully prepared to deal with whatever new threat looms over the town, the season 2 trailer for “Stranger Things” seem to suggest that they’d still need all the help they can get.
The trailer starts with a scene in the arcade where Will, Mike, Lucas, and Dustin are hanging out playing Dragon’s Lair. Towards the end of the game, Will hears a sinister voice that seems to belong to… someone. He is then taken back to the Upside Down for a couple of seconds. A huge monster looms over the town and he is snapped back to reality by Mike. We are then treated to a series of unnerving and action-packed scenes where we see each of our characters trying to reel from the events of Season 1. Eleven’s return is also teased, although how she ends up in the Upside Down remains to be seen.
“Stranger Things” Season 1 thrived in crazy twists and turns. Series creators and showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer are surely going to build up on the amazing events of the previous season while adding an even bigger amount of horror. Barb will not return for the second season, so we can now put to rest #JusticeForBarb.
“Stranger Things” Season 2 arrives on Netflix October 27th. Watch the trailer below:
