October can’t come soon enough. “Stranger Things” Season 2 has just been confirmed its release date (along with a creepy new poster), and as previously stated, it will premiere just in time for Halloween. It’s been a year since “Stranger Things” made its debut on Netflix, but since then fans have been clamoring for more, especially with the questions raised at the end of Season 1. The wait is almost over as Netflix confirms on Twitter that we will all be taken back to Hawkins, Indiana on October 27th.
Stranger Things Season 2: Some Doors Can’t Be Closed
The new “Stranger Things” poster and teaser video (which you can check out below) don’t give anything away. But in the footage, we see three kids—Mike, Lucas, and Dustin—cycling down the road, with the sign beside them saying “Welcome to Hawkins.” Then the frame widens to show a fourth kid catching up behind them. This is presumed to be Will Byers, back from the Upside Down. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is notably absent in the teaser, but she definitely will be in season 2. It was shown back in season 1 that Eleven could be living in the forest, as Chief Hopper (David Harbour) left a box of Eggos in the woods.

The events of “Stranger Things” Season 2 will happen a year after season 1. Will is back to his family and friends, but it’s noticeable how something might still be wrong with him. The boys are also shown dressing up for Halloween in Ghostbusters costumes, which will definitely hit us back with maximum nostalgia especially for those who grew up watching the movies.
There’s also a cover-up happening in Hawkins, as Chief Hopper agrees to not tell anyone or the media about the events that happened in season 1, especially the Upside Down. However, things might get a little bit complicated with Will seemingly bringing back a part of the Upside Down with him (the last time we saw him was when he threw up a slug). Will struggles to readjust to reality after spending a long time in the other dimension. The pressure of covering up will eventually get to Hopper, who’s trying his very best to protect both Joyce and Will. Meanwhile, Mike and Nancy will be dealing with the loss of their friends, namely Eleven and Barb. Nancy will eventually find out that Barb is indeed dead, and Mike will be in for a shock once he learns that Eleven is still alive.
Stranger Things, Stranger Horrors
It’s been confirmed by showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer that “Stranger Things” Season 2 will indeed be scarier, with new monsters possibly being introduced in the show. The Upside Down hasn’t been exactly closed for good, and we are still going to learn more answers on who Eleven is. There will be a new head honcho in the lab, and they’re probably still shady and secretive about what they do, but it’s very likely that they know all about Eleven’s backstory.
New characters will also be introduced: Sean Astin (The Goonies) plays Bob, who’s apparently dating Joyce. Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers) and Sadie Sink will play Billy and Max, who joins the main roster of the kids involved. While The Duffer Brothers have been very secretive, it’s still awesome to look forward to whatever it is that’s happening in Hawkins, Indiana—not to mention looking back at all the 80’s references.
“Stranger Things” Season 2 premieres October 27th on Netflix.
