Stranger Things Season 2 Horror Level Gets “Up Close and Personal”

Many fans are already eagerly waiting for the release of the second season of the popular Netflix series “Stranger Things.” With the success of the first season, season 2 of “Stranger Things” has to at least reach a certain level. Adding the fact that it’s a sci-fi, fantasy, and horror series, a lot of pressure is on the upcoming season. But there’s no need to worry since it looks like the second season has something up its sleeve.

Expect A ‘Stranger Things’ Horror Level Up

The reason why “Stranger Things” is such a big hit is because of how interesting it is. With only 8 episodes for season 1, the series already became one of Netflix’s most-watched series. Who wouldn’t want to watch a show about monsters and alternate dimensions?

Now for season 2, the “Stranger Things” adventure gets a horror level up. In an interview with TVLine, details from the actors themselves are out. Noah Scnapp, who plays Will Byers, describes the upcoming season to be “darker and more eerie.” While a statement from Finn Wolfhard, playing Mike Wheeler, simply says “scarier stuff happens.”

Even the co-creator of the series, Ross Duffer, has something to say about the horror aspect of “Stranger Things.”

“Last season, a lot of the horror and a lot of what was happening with Will was off screen in the Upside down. That’s not the case [in Season 2]. The horror is more up-close and personal.” Duffer said.

Monsters Better Than The Demogorgon

Aside from almost everyone in season 1 returning, there’s also hype about the monsters in the series. The more horror-focused new season is said to be more dangerous, so expect better monsters. The show producers tease that the monsters in the second season definitely beats out Demogorgon.

In an interview with GoldDerby on YouTube, “Stranger Things” executive producer Shawn Levy says “I think overall the forces of evil that are inherent in season two make that Demogorgon look quaint in retrospect.”

The second season of “Stranger things” is set to be out on Halloween, October 31, this year and will consist of 9 episodes.
